Right I was just curious if you know for certain that it's from a theme song or if you just think that it is.

@luke

I am going to copy all of them into a different folder and try and add them as a music library.

If I do this will emby allow me to see the tags?

Just blanket search and select all and drop into m3ptag to see if you see the tag on any item

Yeah I already tired that. They don't show up there either.

I doubted that the issue was from the locally saved trailers. So that was the first thing I tried before ending up here looking for help.

If a tag is deleted would it show the actual tag name? I seem to have a ton of "Removing Item from database", but there is no reference to the actual tag that was deleted.

Doesn't look like it does as deleting a tag from a item and scanning the tag disapears but don't see anything in the log.

Ok, thanks. I'm not sure what info I can provide then @Luke. Tags have definitely been deleted though and I'd really like to know why and which tags were deleted.

I would guess they were removed from the item they were attached to.

Yes, they were, but I don't know which items that happened to.

@Happy2Play@LukeSo Happy suggested that I use Mp3tag to see if I could find those where the phantom tags were coming from, but I had already tried that before come here to the forums.

However I decided to revisit Mp3tag and try something different. I looked around the program a bit and found an option to delete all tags from the mp3.

So I decided to try that see if that would fix this phantom tag issue.

I took all my themes and loaded them into the program and told it to delete all tags.

After which I ran a fresh library scan and they are still there?!? Even with all the tags deleted those phantom tags are still there.

Luke are them coming from my locally saved trailers? What else could be causing this?

shouldn't be as I have tons of local trailers and never had tags on my primary systems.  Only play with tags on test systems though.

But minus finding the tag name in database mediaitems name column with type 34, and getting the itemid and going to the itemlinks2 table and putting that id in linkedid to get the item it is linked to (itemid), then going back to mediaitems table and ensuring you clear the type and name filter and enter the itemid from linkedid table to see what is attached to that tag.

@Happy2PlayI don't have time to do it tonight, but what I am going to do is remove all the movie from my library and then add 10 movies at a time back in. That way when those tags pop up again I will at least I've narrow it down to those 10 movies I just added.

I'll let you guys know what I find. Thanks for the help Happy.

@Happy2Play@Luke

Well, that was not fun.....

After uninstalling my server and reinstalling it, I added my movies back 10 at a time narrowing down were all the phantom tags where coming from.

Turns out it was BOTH Trailers and theme files at fault.

For what ever reason some theme.mp3 and Trailer.MOV files apparently had hidden tags in them.

Once I deleted those files. Poof not more phantom tags.

Thanks for testing.  But would have been nice to have a copy of that media to test with.  So if anyone knows or offending theme.mp3 or trailer can you post a copy.

If the issue is with theme songs, could the solution be to delete all the theme songs via the plug-in and re-download?

Only if the info is not reread from offending themes as they are all coming from the plugin correct.

Yes, good point. I suppose the hole would be that the offending tags are in outdated theme.mp3 files, but there's no guarantee. I suppose I can try and see if any of the tags disappear. What other solution is there to get rid of the tags? I have more than 3,000 movies and I'm not going to remove and re-add them.

Matter of finding that needle in the haystack.  If you do find it make sure you post a copy of it.

But as mentioned blanket search theme.mp3 and drop into mp3tag to see if you see the offending theme assuming that is the issue.

I dumped my entire movie folder into mp3tag. Then I searched for the mysterious tags. This might have one of the offending tags (Bandes originales de films). Can you take a look?

Yes I added that Theme to The Good Dinosaur and tag was created.

image.thumb.png.5c7b39fae8cb991562950b5e8135948a.png

Made a copy of library.db

Used the tagid from url but could have looked it up via name column in mediaitems

http://localhost:8091/web/index.html#!/list/list.html?tagId=18257&serverId=xxxxxxxx9157745edbd86c96723848014&parentId=3

input tagid into itemlinks2 linkedid to get the item that is linked to the tag.

image.png.75518f7a3a2460b230c0a42a35b55f54.png

Back to mediaitems table to look for that id

@Luketheme.mp3 tags being used.  In this case it looks like the Grouping tag.  But now there is a test candidate at least in this specific example.

Excellent. that's a start. Might want to check this one too. It appears this offending tag (PMEDIA) is showing up in quite a few different extended tags.

@Happy2PlayOk, while I was waiting for my server to run a scan and put back the collections menu, thanks again Happy, I dug through one of my old hard drives to see if I had a backup for one of my movie files that had a trailer that was causing the phantom tags.

I found one.

Have not applied it to a item yet but the tag would be "Movie Trailer" correct ie the Grouping tag.
