image.thumb.png.39652d70201294daa2bfd3a371fe1399.png"More like this" will recommendations are made based on multiple media libraries,I don't like this, I prefer him to only recommend similar ones in the current media library, otherwise I would rather turn it off.

What should I do?

Until there are more options it can only be hidden with custom css in the web client (not online client or any other platform).

Hello!

I was looking for a way to disable this feature and I find it very strange that it can't be done.
I'm trying to run away from Netflix just to find out that the Emby Premiere License doesn't allow me to disable such a "feature"!
Is this option at least in the works?

Thanks

Hello,

Make it a premium option, but do make it possible.

At minimum we should be able to disable this feature altogether. Ideally you could select which libraries are included in the "More like this" section. (Similar to how Home Screen customizations allows you to opt-out libraries from "Continue Watching" and "Latest Media")

It's this kind of CRAP that gets companies in trouble. If anything on a free version limit the number of days it can be used, but allow all features to be accessed. I like most cannot truly evaluate if a program is worth purchasing if key features are not available in a trial version.

But as you already have this with HW decoding, I do not see this being a problem.

One more that want the option to disable the "More like this" (on all platforms and without changing nothing on the YAML or adding CSS codes).

It can't be that hard/time consuming to do this.

Yes we need more option to customize the UI of Emby.

It’s been so long, and they still haven’t done anything—no simple way to disable it until a proper solution is found. This "feature" is frustrating and unnecessary, and it’s upsetting not being able to change it. I feel betrayed by my own server. It’s incredibly frustrating, embarrassing, and just plain stupid!

This NAILS it PERFECTLY on soooooooooooooo many things that should of taken precedence and haven't. I see a lot of catering to a particular dev instead of the users especially the paying users.

Yeah, Emby has very clearly become Luke's thing unfortunately. That said, what exactly is the scenario that requires More Like This to be switched off? You have to scroll a long way down to see it at all, so it's pretty easy to just ignore.

Long way down? It's just two taps down after Cast & Crew. If it had been at the bottom, I wouldn't mind, but every single person I know skips it to reach About and Media Info.

It's very embarrassing when it suggests content from unrelated libraries and gets things completely wrong:

1. Why would it suggest cartoons and animations for movies that have nothing to do with that?
2. Why would it suggest Horror for movies that aren't in that genre?
3. Why would it suggest Sci-Fi Movies and TV Shows for cartoons?
4. Why would it suggest Sci-Fi Movies and TV Shows for westerns?
5. Why would it suggest War movies for animations and sitcoms?

The list of irrelevant suggestions keeps going, and since you can't access or modify it, what's the point of having it? It's just an embarrassment for your friends and family.

There should indeed be a way to manage it yourself. I've always wondered how Emby gets these statistics or where they come from.

Especially in a personal media server, you should at least be able to manage this yourself or turn it on/off.

For people like me who do want it or use it, it's just becomes useless screen clutter.

Plus not having options to disable UI settings like this force me to use the web app. I use custom CSS to remove this and other UI elements that I do not use or want.

I am unable to use the new windows app or android app because neither uses the custom CSS function to disable UI elements. If apps had the option to remove unwanted UI elements natively and there was no need to use CSS then I could use those apps instead of the web app.

How often does anyone use either of those sections?

You could just ignore it?

You can modify it; it matches based on genre and collections (among other things) so creating your own collections or adding your own genres will improve what's listed in More Like This.

The relevancy of recommendations is inherently very limited if you have a small collection.

"Just ignore it" isn't valid justification for a feature that does not add value. It clutters the UI. Such features should be optional. A toggle to disable this would be so trivial to implement that there is really no excuse. People want to turn it off, so why not let them?

Perhaps Luke and company can take more than a few pages from Vivaldi.

Personally I like sections like "More like this", but not necessarily in this position.

I'd prefer it to be displayed when finishing an episode or movie. Youtube does this and I believe netflix and other platforms have similar displays as well.

@LukeIt's been a while since we made this request. The 4.9 server version has been released, yet there have been no updates regarding our suggestions. We have not heard anything about potential changes, and we have been waiting patiently.

From what I understand, the issue lies with small libraries. However, many of us only use this server for personal purposes, sharing it with friends and family, rather than for business or large libraries.

I couldn't find a clear explanation for the delay. I consulted a developer friend about whether what we're asking is difficult to implement. He responded, "No, not at all. It shouldn't be. An option to hide it should be very simple."

Are you truly willing to alienate premium users over such a trivial change?

I noticed a trending issue in regards to the "More like this"...

Almost every single one of my elderly users seem to open a video, decide its not what they want (or they watch & complete the video) and rather than pressing BACK, they scroll down to the "More Like This" and start browsing emby from that side-scrolling "More Like This" bar. Next thing I know, they call me saying emby is only showing a hand-full of movies and there is nothing to watch.... Only for me to find out they haven't been pressing back and I have to tell them to keep pressing back up to like 2 dozen times until they get to the emby homescreen.

Having the ability to just disable that would be VERY helpful for those users who just can't fully-understand how things work completely 😆.

Edit: also this option would NEED to be reflected in the apps as well, not just a web-only option.

You must be new, or don't come here often. The dev team has been ask for YEARS to give us option to customize more of the UI of emby and for the most part they go unheard. They have to vision of what emby should look like and we have to deal with it sadly. All we can do is keep asking, but from what I've seen over time is that for the most part we are wasting our time.

EXACTLY THIS!!!!!!!!!!

As someone here said seem to be the @Lukeshow. From deliberately ignoring feature request that are years old, to deliberately ignoring bug fix request (the broken search function), pushing what @Lukeinstead of looking at what the users want.
