two shows merging unexpectedly

I have a sports documentary in the folder below, and properly showing the metadata info from the tvdb:

tv/Sports Documentary Name/Season 1/

When I record live sports events for the same sport, they appear here:

Quote

tv/Sport Name/Season 2024/

Even though they are in different folders, Emby is displaying "Season 1" and "Season 2024" as different seasons of the same series/show. Notably, the live sports does not have an entry in the tvdb.

How can I force these to appear as different shows if the live sports can't grab onto something in the TVDB?

HI, I would check the external id's in the metadata for both series and ensure they are correct.

In the settings for the library, ensure that the setting for merging folders is set off:

You can then set up the metadata of the live section manually, I guess.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try both. 
 

For the live sports, should I make up a random number for the ID as it’s not in tvdb.
