Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 I have two servers and both are working just fine however there is a difference I do not understand: (Both are on Windows 10) On server 1 I look at processes using Task Manager i see both "Emby server" and "Emby tray" reported as active. On server 2 I look at processes using Task Manager I see only "Emby server" while "Emby tray" is nowhere to be seen. Both servers are working fine and were restarted earlier today (part of my regular maintenance) Again neither are showing any problems and both work fine. In fact the one that does not have Emby tray is my primary server and has not had a glitch in quite a while. This is mainly just for info as I do not really need anything "fixed" but, to be honest, I am not even sure what Emby tray does. So i wish to know what it does and if it being missing on onw server is any potential problem. Thanks.

Start first instance (tray icon present) 2. Start second instance (second tray icon present) That is the only time there are two tray icons, for each server respectively. Shutting down (or restarting) any instance closes both tray icons/embytray.exe processes. Subsequent restart results in single tray icon (instance that was last started). You can easily test that, shut down both instances and then start them one by one. Edited March 1, 2024 by GrimReaper

GrimReaper 4742 Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Lol, thought under "server" you referred to "instance" not "machine". My bad.
