some mp4 files play as if they are in slow motion, or missing frames

I have some mp4 videos that seem to play as if they're in slow motion or missing frames. They play fine in VLC or on my iPad's Emby.  It must be related to the Fire Stick.

They are also encoded in x265, if that matters.

Any idea what would cause this issue and how to resolve?

Thanks, Luke!  I followed the instructions for the Fire Stick and sent the logs.

• Exactly what you were doing and what happened.  Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem
  • Just watching the movie, Police Academy 3
• The time you sent the log (in Eastern Time please - UTC -5)
  • 5:51pm EST
• The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time

Hi.  The player is spitting out a lot of timing errors with that item.  Can you try remuxing it?

Unfortunately, that didn't work. I just found a different copy instead. Any idea why it would have timing errors on the Fire Stick but play fine on an iPad's Emby?

Completely different players with different tolerances for bad inputs and/or one of them is transcoding which then corrects the problems.
