Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Can you elaborate on what going offline means? What are we looking at in this minute and half log?
LongMan 112 Posted February 23, 2024 Author Posted February 23, 2024 Just a spinning blue circle with the web page header. Cannot access any media That's the last log available. If more details are required tell me and I will provide.
LongMan 112 Posted February 23, 2024 Author Posted February 23, 2024 I have to restart the pc to be able to access media again
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 With as many libraries as you have, I would suggest changing your database cache as default I would expect to be low. PRAGMA cache_size=-98304
LongMan 112 Posted February 23, 2024 Author Posted February 23, 2024 Ok. I will give that a try. Thanks for taking the time to help
Luke 42078 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Please try removing these plugins: 2024-02-23 12:28:16.620 Info App: Loading playback_reporting, Version=2.1.0.5, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from C:\Users\Zotac User\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\plugins\playback_reporting.dll 2024-02-23 12:28:16.620 Info App: Loading SmartPlaylist, Version=2.4.0.3, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from C:\Users\Zotac User\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\plugins\SmartPlaylist.dll Then restart the server and see how things compare. Thanks.
LongMan 112 Posted February 24, 2024 Author Posted February 24, 2024 Just coming back to report that Happy2Play's suggestion seems to have worked. It hasn't gone offline since I have increase the setting. I will also remove those dlls. I understand SmartPlaylist but why Playback Reporting, I thought it was compatible.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 Sounds like db cache was just to small and potentially taking way longer than expecting to open. But yes if you still have issues your best bet is plugins next.

PRAGMA cache_size=-98304 But with 12 libraries I would think that is low, but I guess the question really should be how large is the libary.db. @LongMan 1
LongMan 112 Posted February 24, 2024 Author Posted February 24, 2024 library.db is 452 MB. I don't remember the previous data cache size value but I changed it to 4000 MB. I only run emby on that computer and it has 16GB of RAM. It is much snappier now and I like it. Thanks again 1
LongMan 112 Posted March 14, 2024 Author Posted March 14, 2024 I am getting the occasional 401 error. I googled it and it said Unauthorized. Why would the user authorization change? After a while it works again, or if I restart the machine it works. Did something change with authorization between 4.7 and 4.8? The problem seem to be on streaming access, admin still functions.

LongMan 112 Posted March 14, 2024 Author Posted March 14, 2024 Thanks for responding. Since it is kind of random. I will post the log at the end of the day. Should provide more data. Cheers, LongMan

LongMan 112 Posted March 17, 2024 Author Posted March 17, 2024 Did the log offer any insights as to why emby is sometimes unavailable? Cheers, LongMan

LongMan 112 Posted March 21, 2024 Author Posted March 21, 2024 Yes I am. It is Intermittent. I have ruled out network because it is the same on the host machine.
justinrh 260 Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Have you checked resource utilization? Is there anything else taxing your server? Running 3rd-party AV software? 1
LongMan 112 Posted March 22, 2024 Author Posted March 22, 2024 Only Emby. Emby shows high usage of cpu
LongMan 112 Posted March 22, 2024 Author Posted March 22, 2024 No. No change. Since 4.8 I have been having these issues. Increasing PRAGMA cache_size moved it from being unusable being available intermittently.
LongMan 112 Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 I was able to track down the source of my problem. I use a program ersatztv to generate tv channels from my library. It obtains metadata for movies and tv shows from Emby. Whenever it scans collections, it causes emby server to go offline form streaming, library access etc. However the Server Management Dashboard still works. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mtGOxAGoSYC87bCSzuMz46KDvG1cT9nV/view?usp=sharing 1
