testingtv 3 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Hello, What I am trying to accomplish: Having a double episode at the end of a season being recognized correct by Emby Where I am stuck: double episodes (one file) that are inside a season have no problem being recognized and are displayed and tagged correct double episodes at the end of a season (last episode) are not being recognized correct The episode name is displayed like a correct double episode The episode number is NOT displayed like a correct double episode How it should be displayed: How it is displayed: You can see the missing "-19" at the front of the episode. The second episode in this double episode is also listed under "Missing Episodes". Emby Statistic (Community Plugin) is also showing me Episodes missing for this TV-Show. Server Info: Version 4.8.1.0 hosted on Windows Additional data that could be helpful: opened a copy of the library.db file in a DB Browser and managed to find the episodes in question here. noticed that under the column IndexNumberEnd for the correct displayed episodes there is a number (for the example posted above it is "2") noticed that under the column IndexNumberEnd for the wrong displayed episodes there is NULL value I have not tried setting that value manually since I did not want to alter the database. Greetings
Luke 42080 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 HI there, how are your files named and organized?
testingtv 3 Posted February 23, 2024 Author Posted February 23, 2024 (edited) Files are organised like this: \TV \Glee (2009) \Season 1 Glee - S01E01.mp4 Glee - S01E02.mp4 Glee - S01E03-E04.mp4 Glee - S01E05.mp4 Glee - S01E06.mp4 Glee - S01E07-E08.mp4 <--- TV folder added to library as library folder---> Edited February 23, 2024 by testingtv Format of episodes
pgriffith 88 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 (edited) Seems ok on mine. On 4.8.1.0 I have my files named like.... S01E09-10 - Critical Mass + Leviathan Wakes.mkv It's shown in the library as below (The Expanse if you were wondering) Where both parts are named the same like this one in Lost S05E16-17 - The Incident.mkv Both are end of Season episodes by the way. testingtv 3 Posted February 23, 2024 Author Posted February 23, 2024 Funny, I tried with the Show you just shared your experience with and everything works fine. Just can't seem to get one Show to work - The Office (US) Season 4 and Season 7. Maybe I will just accept this and wont bother too much since it's not affecting more atm.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 We need specific examples showing exact naming scheme as the parser has changed and what worked before may not work now as shown in other topics. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/126467-unraid-docker-4810-update-bug-file-naming https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/126430-metadata-cache-purge-feature-force-update-metadata
testingtv 3 Posted February 23, 2024 Author Posted February 23, 2024 Here is a screen of the folder containing the files in question:
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 (edited) Will have to look but there is another topic on this. Metadata is gotten but end epsidode is not shown. Had trouble with your naming scheme and had to manually Identify but reproduced the issue. All are broken not showing episodenumberend. Tried OP folder naming and basic naming. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/125941-just-a-fyi-bug-report-missing-episodes-and-combined-episode @LukeI am now getting the same results. Loosing end episode when testing. Variable episodes metadata only with TVDB provide this, enabling TMDB also provides end episode. Only limited testing. But last episode still did not get end episode but the first 4 did. @testingtvwhat metadata providers do you have enable on the library? Edited February 23, 2024 by Happy2Play
testingtv 3 Posted February 23, 2024 Author Posted February 23, 2024 Hey thanks for investigating. Yeah I nearly have to identify manually all TV Shows I have due to the complicated "tagging" I do in naming the Folders (with the []). If you have any suggestions how to do that better I am open to new ideas. I have enabled following metadata providers, for both season and episode: TheTVDB TheMovieDb The Open Movie Database
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 (edited) So the disconnect would appear to be in the TVDB code and endepisodenumber. Reproduce this multiple times toggling episode providers. Only TVDB episode provider Added provider so TVDB then TMDB episode provider But last episode is still wrong do to provider mismatch as there is no E18 on TMDB as they list that episode as E14. But can't really say for sure as mine is clean testing and OP has providers enabled. Edited February 23, 2024 by Happy2Play
Luke 42080 Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 OK I see the issue. The fix for this will be included in the Emby Server 4.8.2 maintenance release. You'll need to refresh metadata once you have it. Thanks. 2
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Looks to be corrected in 4.9.0.8 in my same test from above. 1
