Not Generating Playlist Image

I have having similar problems with cover images for playlists as well as genres. Some are generated with all identical issues. And for all, after deleting using 3-dot... Images... screens they don't get regenerated, even after triggering new library scan. Seems a basic bug, which it would be good to have fixed in next maintenance release. Initial, auto-generated genre cover images all are 4 tiles of same album. Select one ("African"). Delete image.

Run full Music Library scan (BTW, the inaccurate scan progress percentage circle should be fixed, as Luke acknowledged ages ago).

Then run refresh metadata (including replace all images) just on that genre. Results: same image is generated, with four identical tiles. Seems a bug. Please fix.

(Same behavior on Playlists, as reported in different thread. 4.8 just isn't generating mixed album cover images.)

I have seen similar behavior, the below playlist was created yesterday. The image from the first item in the list, is always just duplicated 4 times rather than any randomness. Pretty sure it's a regression that slipped by as it worked in 4.7

I tested this two different ways and it seems to be working just fine. I created a playlist with one item, where initially all four squares were the same. Then added other items and the playlist was refreshed in the background with a new images.

Also created a playlist with lots of items all at once, and saw four different squares in the  image.

What might be happening is that the refreshing of the playlist goes into a background queue, and it could just be waiting in line behind other things.

Can't speak for others, but mine has been stuck like this, after multiple deletes and refreshes, for several days now.

I will guess these are related.

 

But yes adding items to a playlist directly updated playlist image in my test on 4.9.

Went from all Requiem to the new items added.

But do not know the variables if there as many tracks with same image.  As only as 2 to 4 tracks added.
