KenLinder 4 Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 (edited) Every other application on my PC will take these UNC paths. So lets put one of them into EMBY in a music library where EMBY says "(Optional) Shared network folder" I enter \\ROUTER-RT-AC68U\natu_all_files\Music EMBY tells me The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again. But the path is there. I can use that path in any of my applications. So I try another path that exists on my network \\WARP\WARP_C_Files\mp3 The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again. That's real and EMBY can't use it. How about \\BEYONWIZT4\Harddisk\movie The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again. EMBY will not accept *any* valid UNC path, as used in EXPLORER or an normal application. I have to add my network directories by mapping them to a drive letter first. But adding to folder and click the refresh goes there and see the folder content. Window 11 library point to folder on Windows 10. Minus permissions I am not sure.

rbjtech 5284 Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 (edited) UNC works fine in both fields - I've been using it this way for years. The simple way to test is by using the same account as Emby - just put the UNC path in the search box - if it shows the folders, then emby should do the same. Also test by substituting the NetBios name by IP - ie \\192.168.1.100\sharename If that works - then you have a NetBios issue (shortname lookup), if you want to use name - then maybe add the name is the local hosts file and use the dns name instead.
