Subtitles on Android TV app vs regular Android App

Just wanted to bring this to attention of the team in case it hasn't been brought up before. 

 

On all my android based devices, I'm trying to transition to the stand android app since that's the direction we're headed. On my Shield Pro (haven't tested this on a Fire device yet), the subtitles appear 100% correctly on the Android TV app, but on the stock Android app, certain characters are missing. You can see the two pics below to see how the music character shows on Android TV but not the Android app.
