Once I add lyrics in txt file, Emby finds it. I can PM you a couple sample files if you like. I've attached a log file here. Files are: @beckfield Bee Gees/Still Waters/02 - I Surrender.flac Madonna/La Isla Bonita/01 - La Isla Bonita.mp3 embyserver.txt

After posting my last reply, I had the idea to run 'Scan Library Files' from the Library level, instead of the Album level. Running the scan from the Album level did NOT pick up the embedded lyrics: Running the scan from the Library level did pick up the embedded lyrics: 1

beckfield 173 Posted February 16, 2024 Author Posted February 16, 2024 Same is true for sidecar lyrics. Scanning from the album level does not pick up lyric txt files (and probably lrc files), while scanning from the Library level does. 1
Neminem 1519 Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 I think its some what like this issue. Where metadata is not updating, after edit of music files metadata. 1
nospotify 184 Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 (edited) So many of the issues in various threads about music libraries on these support boards revolve around several core issues, which it would be great if more people could press the Emby developers to fix: 1. Emby doesn't do partial library scans when users change metadata, except under two awkward circumstances: manually refreshing individual music tracks (which is an enormous pain for a full album let alone a full artist with multiple albums) or changing view to folder and then figuring out how to scan from there. 2. Most perturbingly, Emby is literally lying inaccurately signaling to users when it offers menu choices to do partial scans in many other settings, and it even pops up an overlay indicating (incorrectly!) that it is doing so. This might be the most astonishing UI flaw in Emby. 3. Emby for puzzling reasons still does not prioritize embedded user metadata over data that is retrieved, accurately or inaccurately, from external services. When I look back at my posts and questions on this support site over more than a year, the vast majority of them are about these issues. If the Emby developers would just fix these modest flaws, so many users with large, well-tended and well-loved music libraries would have no reason to be asking for help here.
