RanmaCanada 495 Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 I would say refusing to post their "proof" while continuing to defend it does make them dumb and stupid. But I have an incredibly low tolerance for willful ignorance. When someone refuses to educate themselves, even after being spoonfed the material, it makes me extremely hostile.
speechles 2055 Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 (edited) https://www.winzip.com/en/learn/features/compress-video/ Compressing methods for different video formats Several video formats are unfamiliar to most people. GIF and MP4 files are popular today, but video formats like MOV, WebM, AVI, and MKV aren't widely known. Some compression services require different ways to compress other video formats. Fortunately, WinZip does not require a variety of ways to compress them. The tutorial above will help you compress virtually every video format available. Compressing videos has several pros, but there are also a few cons. Every video format compresses differently and has different advantages and disadvantages. The MP4 file has a high compression rate. Having a high compression rate, the MP4 can be compressed to a tiny file but comes at the cost of video and sound quality. In contrast, the GIF file compresses very differently. Most GIF files can be compressed with minimal data loss output. The MOV file does lose data, but not as much as the MP4 file, so it retains better video quality. The AVI file, like the GIF file, can undergo lossless compression. AVI file compression keeps its original quality, making it ideal for storing videos in raw form and editing apps. And the WebM file offers an even higher compression rate than the MP4 file. However, WebM file compression also comes with a significant loss in video quality. ---- Leaving this here so the OP can see this. I would use ZIP to package several photos/videos together into one ZIP and make it far easier to distribute without it being possible for someone to miss one of the photos/videos. With certain codecs you can gain considerable space zipping. It just isn't necessary for most people to do this if they just watch over Emby. But if you have home videos it makes sense to leave some of those zipped. Then you just drag new videos into that zip and you can easily backup your camera offsite with a single ZIP file. @spaghettiNo hard feelings. We can come off as A-holes without hearts. But we can admit when we are wrong. Sorry to have come off as ridiculous to you. We are not that way. It was just a silly week last week. Lots of sillies were around. Don't get discouraged. You are correct. Ever wonder why dashcam always use AVI? Because it allows the use of lossless ZIP compression. Edited February 20, 2024 by speechles
