Beside as browser cache issue only other thing I can think of is if you create a new user does it appear?

Cleared cache, created new user and found something else. Under user access the Library does not show there either.

@Happy2PlayThank you for your help yesterday and today.

After reinstalling the older emby sever, I now have the collections back in both the app and internet browser.

I have a love hate relationship with emby/devs

I love this product, but often times am so annoyed with the decisions this dev team makes.

Hi, so im on 4.8.3.0 (new install)

Is the collections library on this version? If so what do i need to do to get it back (I really dont want to go down the API way as listed previously).

Currently no.  Maybe 4.8.4.0 if there is another maintenance release as it has been added back to beta releases.

I just upgraded from 4.7.x to 4.8.8.0 on my Synology NAS running 7.2+ and noticed the last few collections that were created don't have images (fanart.jpg and poster.jpg). I have tried all variants of refreshing metadata images and when I click Edit Images on the collection, all of the links are broken.

I pulled this line out of the log.

2024-06-19 02:10:24.582 Info Server: http/2 Response 500 to host1. Time: 131ms. GET https://emby_remote_ip:8742/emby/Items/29902/Images/Primary?maxHeight=120&maxWidth=80&tag=b50af10c0e1801639fa3ee390744d82a&quality=90

I am also seeing a log message with NotTimeValid.

InnerException: System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: The remote certificate is invalid because of errors in the certificate chain: NotTimeValid

... however my Synology NAS time settings are correct and timestamps in the logs are accurate.

@Luke @Happy2Play - Just took some time to dig through that thread. DNS resolution was all well, and time was all synced/correct.

Then I found the reply suggesting clearing certs in the /volume1/@apphome/EmbyServer/.dotnet/corefx/cryptography/x509stores/ca/ path.

I stopped Emby via Synology's Package Center, moved the certs to a different location, and then started the server again.

Happy to report that missing collection images were there upon checking, without having to refresh metadata/etc. One thing I'd like to note is that images for the movies themselves weren't having any issues downloading, only the collection images weren't loading. For example, I added all of my ripped Terminator movies at once and performed a library sync... all of the individual movie images loaded fine, but the collection images didn't load.

Here are the .pfx files that were in that directory.

All we can go off of is the limited info you provided but don't believe collections images are any different than normal images but sound like you are all good now, correct?

Obviously there would appear to be a cert issue on select platforms still.

Almost the same way you created it.

Now for anyone wanting to remove this Virtual library or accidently recreated duplicate libraries here are the steps.

But before you do this make a copy of /metadata/collection as it will be cleared/delete and may end up with broken placeholder images for existing collections.

there was a box set plugin. for those that wanted it or not

emby decided to kill the plug in, and build it into emby

instead of a check box, or another option to choose it or not, you remove it instead

then to get it back you have to jump through hoops

this is just like the "show specials in the season folder"

have great software, get thousands of users, destroy software and user base

is emby following the business model of myspace now?

The movies themselves have posters, just not the collections.

Got it. Thank you. Will do. That might take another 12-24 hours. Took about that long to go from 90% to 96%. I was starting to wonder if maybe I deleted a collections library and simply didn't remember having done it, and perhaps it will not generated those collection posters without it.
