I'm not sure, but I think when you deactivate the "Emby: settings" option in the interface settings that show menu items when you long-press on anything, you also deactivate it for the addon. The settings item no longer shows up when you long-press on the add-on icon. When you select "information," the configuration button is greyed out.

No it isn't. I assume you tried the "old" way to accessing the settings via next-gen VIDEO plugin. This has changed in 10.X, now you need to access the settings via next-gen SERVICE plugin.

The service plugin is the new "core" module.

btw, if you want to access dynamic nodes for music and photos, you must additionally install the emby-next-gen music and photo addon.

fyi, I had to change it due to Kodi limitations detecting the content type correctly when content types are not unique by a plugin.

Thanks. I'll install from services instead of from videos.

Would it be possible to put up a notice when opening the options of the Video/Picture/Music plugins that you should go to the Service plugin to manage the plugin now? Or even better, just redirect to the Service plugin settings from any of the others?

Could it detect if any of the "helper" plugins are missing, and suggest they are installed?

I've just been upgraded from v9 -> v10 automatically, and I only knew what was going on by being a forum member, and that I needed to manually install the other plugins to get full features. So for me, it's not really an issue, but I can see others may have problems with the transition.

Well, the helper plugins (video, music, pictures) are only required for dynamic nodes. You could even uninstall them for synced content only (which most people use).

Maybe I'll add dependencies in next version for the helpers but this needs to be carefully tested. It can easily break the upgrade path from 9.X.

I tested this option, unfortunately there are only ugly workarounds possible, therefore I added an option in the context menu.

Agreed it's not ideal, people used to go via video plugins. I see what I can do.

Usually happens, when movies are assigned to multiple collections on Emby server.

Kodi cannot handle this scenario and it's a first come first serve for Kodi sets.

How do I check that?  I have looked for other collections they might be in, but there is nothing listed that would be a logical choice.  Is there a way to see what collections an individual movie is in?

EDIT: I just noticed, the one thing these 2 collections have that others don't (the working ones) is that they are multi-version.  In other words, I have 4k and 1080p or DVD versions.  None of the other collections have this.  Could that be causing the issue of the collections?

On Emby server check the details page of the movies from a collection which isn't working and scroll down to the "Included In" section.  If a movie is in multiple collections, they will be listed. be listed.

Thanks.  I checked and they are not in multiple collections.

Maybe really related to multi versions but not sure. I'll check that.

Thanks.  I did find at least 1 collection that is working where 1 movie had multiple versions, so I am not sure that is the problem.  With that said, the collections that aren't working have multiple versions on ALL the movies in the collection.

I think I found the problem. Yes it's related to multiversions assigned to a collection but the issue appears only, after Emby server sends an update. e.g.

Init sync is correct, but as soon as you play one of these movies and restart Kodi, plugin's Kodi upstart sync kicks in (progress change reported by Emby) and that's where the collection is broken. I run some more tests and try to solve the issue.

Correction:

seems to affect all collections

New BETA version available 10.0.45:

Delta changelog 10.0.44 -> 10.0.45

fix dynamic node "recommended" (double items) -> "recommended" is the node name, not an instruction 😉
fix upcoming dynamic node when item name not reported
fix soundtrack tagged as compilation
add context menu refresh option for seasons and series
add config redirect from helper plugin
fix boxset/collection updates

Comment:

Helpers are also updated

@scherzekingAs Luke pointed out, dvdsub substitles cannot be fixed due to Emby server limitation.

Is it possible for you to change the Summary for the 3 media source add-ons so that they describe what they are?  I know you said you wanted to keep the names all the same, but I would like to uninstall the audio one because I don't sync music, and I can't tell which is which.  Otherwise, I may just have to guess.

List addons by category, don't browse "all".

Also I put it on the list.

I installed .45 and did a repair on my Movies library, but it didn't seem to work.  Those collections are still broken.  I have 5 Bourne movies, and the 2 newest ones are in the collection, but the original trilogy is not.  For the Matrix, I have all 4 movies, but no collection is even created for those.  I know it worked before I rebuilt my Emby server a few months back, so I wonder if something is weird on the new installation?  The weird thing is though, Emby shows the collections just fine.  It is just in Kodi that they don't show up correctly.

Did you try to reset your boxsets also?

I checked @muzicman0 libraries. It seems to be related to multiversion content assigned to collections.

However, there was another/different issue with collections which I addressed in .45 but not related to @muzicman0reported problem.

Hello.

Emby Server 4.8.8.0 on Ubuntu VPS. Kodi Companion Plugin installed.

Kodi 21.0 on Windows 10.

Emby for Kodi next gen:

- Service: 10.0.44 / Video Addon: 10.1.0

All Nodes are empty. Dynamic and Synced. I deleted and reinstalled the addons a few times. I can see after fresh install, that the content will be loaded on the top right info slider, but everytime the nodes are still empty.

If i delete the next gen addons and downgrade back to next gen 8.2.14 everything works fine.

I don't know, what's wrong here.

Any ideas?

Do you use native mode and set a Kodi (profile) password?

I don't use profiles and no password.

I use the addon mode (?) The right choice button after fresh installation.

ok, then I need a kodi.log for review including the init sync.

addon-mode is fine

Also, you can try a absolute clean Kodi installation with default skin and only emby-next-gen installed (to rule out side effects)
