Kodi just doesn't play the stream even everything is correct. Must be something specific to your setup. Any additional info? Frankly, there must be something different cause you are the only one reporting this issue. I tested the weirdest scenarios, with proxies, without proxy, proxy with redirects, ssl invalid certificates, everything I could think of. All worked perfect. Did you run a test on a fresh installation (PC, not libreelec box)? Edited June 8, 2024 by quickmic
quickmic 1703 Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 Just saw, you are using Kodi profiles, right? Please try disable path substitution, maybe your advancedsettings.xml are incorrect. I see two advancedsettings files and one looks suspicious, actually wrong. However, that's why I asked, what is not standard on your setup.

I'll take a look at path substitution, and the advancedsetting.xml files and report back.
quickmic 1703 Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 Might be libreelec specific. What I see, this image "p-493941-0-B-38b9c29b70916304988ddc76336219a4" tries to load, but seems not working. It's a backdrop with EmbyId 493941

I don't have Kodi installed on my PC, so I'm installing it and setting it up. I've reviewed the advancedsettings.xml files on my LibreElec client, and as best as I can tell they are default files. I have not modified them in anyway. I've also disabled path substitution in E4K. That did not resolve the issue. E4K next-gen .25 on my rpi4 LibreElec installation works perfectly fine. But .26/.27 does not. Weird. I'll report back after getting Kodi setup on my PC. 1
muzicman0 84 Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Pulling my hair out on this issue! Can't figure out what is going on! I am pretty sure it only started on Kodi 21. Basically, once I install Emby for Kodi, there are certain actions that take a long LONG time.  The one that I can reproduce every time is opening the backup script add-on. It can take minutes to open. If I disable the Emby for Kodi Service add-on, it opens immediately. So I deleted my data on Kodi (on my Shield), and installed just the Emby and Backup addons, and I have the same issue. But again, as soon as I disable the Emby Add-on, it works just fine. The only things I change in settings is to enable delete on Kodi events, remove everything but delete from context menu, and remove 'people' from dynamic libraries. I use Native mode, but from my tests, that doesn't seem to matter. I assume it has to be something on my side since no one else has complained of this, but I have it on all of my devices (at least all my Android based devices - didn't happen on my Macbook). Below is the Kodi logs. I attempted to open the Backup script at 15:48:xx. It finally opened around 15:53:xx. 2024-06-08 15:47:51.985 T:6552   info <general>: CAESinkAUDIOTRACK::Initializing with: m_sampleRate: 44100 format: AE_FMT_FLOAT (AE) method: PCM stream-type: PCM-STREAM min_buffer_size: 60320 m_frames: 1885 m_frameSize: 8 channels: 2 2024-06-08 15:48:29.319 T:7332  warning <general>: SMBFile::OpenForWrite() called with overwriting enabled! - smb://USERNAME:PASSWORD@10.3.0.140/Movies/kodi.log 2024-06-08 15:49:41.694 T:6552   info <general>: CActiveAESink::OpenSink - initialize sink 2024-06-08 15:49:41.697 T:6552   info <general>: Trying to open: samplerate: 44100, channelMask: 12, encoding: 4 2024-06-08 15:49:41.699 T:6552   info <general>: Minimum size we need for stream: 30160 Bytes 2024-06-08 15:49:41.699 T:6552   info <general>: Audiotrack buffer params are: period time = 42.744 ms, period size = 15080 bytes, num periods = 4 2024-06-08 15:49:41.699 T:6552   info <general>: Created Audiotrackbuffer with playing time of 170.975057 ms min buffer size: 60320 bytes 2024-06-08 15:49:41.712 T:6552   info <general>: CAESinkAUDIOTRACK::Initializing with: m_sampleRate: 44100 format: AE_FMT_FLOAT (AE) method: PCM stream-type: PCM-STREAM min_buffer_size: 60320 m_frames: 1885 m_frameSize: 8 channels: 2 2024-06-08 15:50:29.473 T:7419  warning <general>: SMBFile::OpenForWrite() called with overwriting enabled! - smb://USERNAME:PASSWORD@10.3.0.140/Movies/kodi.log 2024-06-08 15:52:01.508 T:6530   info <general>: Samba is idle. Please send me your "servers_XXXXXXXXXXX.json" file for review. REMOVE the "AccessToken" in this file before posting it! You can find it in: ../userdata/addon_data/plugin.service.emby-next-gen. I think I can reproduce the issue. I'll fix that in next version. Edited June 9, 2024 by quickmic 1

juro1971 11 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) Hi, I would like to come back to my performance issue. I made some progress. I found out that using playlists bring an acceptable results. The only issue is still the album wall. What I found out is that the emby library Home Fotos and Videos will be synced with Kodi. In my opinion, they don't belong there. They may also be part of the problem .... The infoline in the Aeon NOx skin says that I have about 450 movies. If I add the photo and home video folder, I have 3500, but I don't want them there at all. This sometimes leads to the long loading times and the fact that 70 percent of the time nothing appears in the random background movies skin menu movies. You can certainly work with filters, playlists and tags. Maybe I will now also give the stable version 9 a try. Edited June 9, 2024 by juro1971

Kyrunner 86 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 @quickmicWhat kind of log do you need to troubleshoot artwork caching? When I click on it in the sync setting nothing happens then randomly it will pop up that's trying to sync but it stays at zero and never moves. Im on .27 I think the last time this worked was on .26

It shouldn't be doing anything with smb to open the backup add on. [EDIT]I should also mention that the Backup script isn't the only slow thing for me. It's just the one thing I know is slow that I can test on the default theme. Another thing that is slow is opening the 'Edit home screen menu items' on both Amber and Arctic Zephyr themes. There are other things as well. Kyrunner 86 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 @quickmic I’m a little confused on the sync artwork cache. What does it ackialy do? My understanding is it sync everything from the emby server to Kodi which is ran on my pc. Shouldn’t my pc hard drive fill up since data is being sync to it. I just done a full sync took over a hour but my hardrive never changed. I guess I just need a little clarification  @quickmic for widgets should we be using Dynamic or Regular when I create a widget for my Home Screen for tv shows next episode I can choose Dynamic tv shows and pick next up and that works but if I try to use the other choice TV shows  which isn’t dynamic it never syncs watch historyÂ
