I had to change the folder of my emby mov library. now in emby and kodi all is perfect again.

but now backups are 7 gig not 3.5 anymore. possible that I still have the old lib in kodi somewhere without seeing it? 

I then thought reseting database is a good idea but that was wrong somehow. movie lib and corresponding skin settings were gone. only tv was there. 

besides the backup size all is good now. should I reset something? nodes? cache?

bonus question, is cache all metadata somewhere explained? I started it without any clue but it was so slow I stopped

and paging. maybe I should set it higher  but I found no help / description 

 

maybe I also need an update to 26? I'm currently on 24.

You enabled messages for new content. Please, don't play with the settings if you don't know what's the impact. Default settings are quite good, no need to adjust any of those.

Seconds, your skin seems to mess with notifications?

Both would not be a plugin issue.

I was trying to get rid of the notification since my start of the journey. couldn't remember that I changed it. notifications for all addon are off, and I changed the setting in kodi next gen also now. 

but the notification is not the problem? more that it's syncing courius things a long time. not like usual 20 seconds run through the libs 

I've asked earlier. pls point me to the correct reset structure, after I have changed my libraries a bit, and the backup size doubled. I think something is not correct

Factory reset, in plugin settings.

Take a complete Kodi backup before that, even Kodi settings should not be touched.

Also I would recommend an upgrade to .26.

if kodi settings are gone and I restore my backup the next gen lib issue and possible wrong settings are also back? 

would you do the reset before upgrading to 26?

Quick Question on  the setting sync cache art work. Will this sync all the art work from the Emby server to the local Kodi machine to speed everything up

You can select which content should be synced. Just push the button and you will see.

I read in the setting the sync can’t be interrupted so I’m assuming no rebooting the Kodi box? 
 

how long does the sync take the sync has been at 0 for 15 minutes I do have the web server tuned on

Yes, just restart Kodi and the sync is interrupted. You can restart the caching any time, it keeps the already loaded ones.

btw, I need a better way for stopping caching...

Full artwork cache on my setup is around 250GB and takes several hours.

Artists/Persons/Chapters are really big ones.

250GB wow!  when I do a full Emby Server backup of my server it’s only 20GB I’m assuming when you do a full backup on emby it captures all the Artist/Persons/Chapters so hopefully I only have 20GB of data

Just made a fresh install with 0.26, cannot connect to the server on the first prompt box "Manually add a server".

I've tried IP x.x.x.x (as usual), http://x.x.x.x, IP:port, IP:https port, no luck.

I don't use emby connect so I cannot test if the alternative works.

I changed some part in the connection code, yes, but what you described is tested dozens of times.

The pattern is

http://192.168.0.207

https://192.168.0.207

and port in the next textbox "Port"

Is there anything special? e.g. proxy/redirects etc?

Actually I use a proxy too and it works fine as well. However redirects might be a problem.

If it's an internet address/IP, please send the link. I don;t need login credentials, but I could check all the way to the handshake.

I think I found a bug, not sure if it's related to the issue you reported.

Hi all,

I now successfully enabled emby for kodi next gen.

In general it works but I am not satisfied with the performance. I have a movie libary with around 450 movies. emby server is running on a raspberry. Meta data and assets are cached on the server. As main player I use a NVIDIA Shield 2019. When I select now the movie libary via Kodi > videos > emby dynamic nodes > movies by title, it takes up to 15-18 seconds if a first screen (flix view) is loaded with all the covers and the first movie pre selected. That's too long, all other movie library accesses need identical time. Selecting e-g. TV series is totally ok. Using a web browser as front end on same machine is totally ok. Movie covers load immediately. Using Kodi without emby seems to be in general much more  performing?!

I really would like to set up my central media database environment. But the performance has be acceptable.

Any idea how to improve?

I think I use the beat repo, so 10.0.24

As I tried to explain same behavior also for non dynamic nodes. All other kodi stuff is up to date.

.26 has a performance issue on a very specific use case, but I will not elaborate (will be fixed in next version).

With synced nodes, neither the plugin and Emby server is responsible here.

I'm 99% sure it's one of the 3rd party plugins. As usual, test with stock Kodi and it will work fine.
