embyforkodi (next-gen) 10.X.X support

@quickmicMy server auto upgraded to 4.8.x.x and I thought everything was fine, so I upgarded to 10.0.23.  I am now noticing some transcoding issues that I did not have before with 4.7 and downgrading back to an older copy.  Is downgrading the plugin as simple as reinstalling 10.0.22 over the .23 or do I need a complete uninstall/reinstall or will 10.0.23 just continue to work?  Copying of the older emby folder will take an hour or so, therefore, I will test anyway.

hi, I'm using a Dune Homatics 4K R Box with the new AndroidTV 12 and Kodi 21. My problem is that i have stuttering with the newest version. My buffer is full, i have no idea where the problem is.

Downgraded back to 4.7.x.x, 10.0.23 seems to be working fine so will have to further investigate what the issue is with 4.8.x.x transcoding and bumping down to software.  Everything is checked off to use hardware, but don't want to thread hijack.

I just got a new device (ugoos/CoreELEC) and I'm having trouble with duplicate libraries. All my TV shows are showing up twice.

I have synced them once, they are only in one library. But they're doubled. I then removed the library, and now there is one copy. They even play.

I'm not sure how to clean things up. Do I have to do the entire DB reset?

 

EDIT# A  factory reset fixed it.

You might downgrade to 10.0.22 with Emby 4.7 server. No need to reset the database...

Doubles usually happens on Kodi crashes while init sync.

Yes a factory reset is the best way to fix such an issue.

It's not a plugin issue. Kodi is responsible for the playbacks, Emby server for the stream data.

The plugin just tells Kodi what to play.

Usual suspects are the hardware acceleration settings in Kodi, firmware bugs or android issues.

Kodi 19 is not supported by 10.X plugin versions. You need 9.X

I would suggest, try Kodi 20 with 10.X plugin.

I'm running 022.

can I just download the 023 movie zip and install from zip file and it will keep all my settings. 

or do I have to do something upfront?

the other Pic and music helper stay as they are?

better to shutdown something before? emby backup? kodi backup?

Delta changelog 10.0.23 -> 10.0.24

fix server busy progress bar when server restarted or shutdown
fix websocket issue
fix init sync when server is busy (sync re-started)
increase paging limit for MusicAlbum
remove sorting parameter for unlimited synced nodes (performance)
add Kodi database indexes (performance)
improve sync performance

update is easy via repository install over the old. maybe you could add to qa I was not sure keeping that fragile construct together

Even if you do nothing, the plugin will update automatically at some point (unless you disabled automatic updates)

In next version I must change the plugin structure/helpers.

Kodi has still issues with detection of the content type for audio and pictures.

Current plan, the core module might be re-defined as a Kodi-script plugin and another (video) helper will be added as dependency.

since update yesterday in movie list I don't have sets anymore every movie is a single item in the list. movie set is checked in video lib settings but no effect. 

 

any idea? anything I can do? many thanks!! 

edit : I thought maybe it was the change from dynamic lib to normal lib. but that was 2 days ago I still had sets.

thanks yes. In emby ecerything is correct. besides 15 are missing and it seems thees 15 are destroyed one I see in kodi. but not 100% sure yet. 

anyway in kodi I see 15 of more than 100 and they are not correct

I don't have an kodi addon called boxsets or movie sets. should I? kodi is only and 100% using my emby library via the Plugin from here. nothing scraping or doing in kodi

and I don't have an emby Plugin for that, I guess?

I have scanned libraries all, and movies 3 times in emby. scanned metadata in emby. restarted the docker and the kodi box several times

there seems just something to be wrong only 15 are submitted and the data is corrupted 

reset nodes is not helping. only 15 defect ones. in dynamic it seems much better

In the Emby for Kodi addon try 

Settings...Sync...Manage Libraries...Refresh boxsets

I have to do that once in a while after an upgrade myself because some boxsets become broke
