Smart playlists available?

Hi,

New user here, could someone please confirm there is no built in smart playlist ability with emby or any plans to add it?

As I understand you need to use a 3rd party plugin?

That's nervy to share a post from... 8 years ago. Yes @fireplexthe user-built plugin worked great in Emby 4.7, and there are many of us eagerly waiting for the developer to update it to work in 4.8.

Considering they reference a post from 2016, its a safe bet that they abandoned this one too.

Best to look for third party plugins first, and use the forums as a last resort.

It's supposed to be in this release (4.9) - but that was back in September 2024 - so it's been 5 months already...

It could be around the corner, it may be another 5 months - who knows - as Emby's definition of 'soon' or 'stay tuned' is very different to most peoples expectations ...
