Lost Admin Account, no dashboard available

suddenly when logging into emby, i have no dashboard anymore, looks just like any other user account, help

Can you try clearing browsing data and seeing if that helps?

Do you have multiple account?  Are you sure that account is supposed to be admin?

cleared cache, tried updating emby, its been my admin account for years, just suddenly started happening in the last couple weeks

Only option is verifying the users policy.xml 

Click on Display on that menu screen to get your userid from the url

then navigate to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\config\users\{your id folder}\policy.xml obviously path will be platform prevalent though.

But always good to have an alternate admin account for things like this but it is impossible to not have an active admin account in my testing.

Are you maybe running out of HDD space? Or does your transcode-temp folder contain excessive number of files?

thank you, i was trying to figure out how to figure out what my user id was. now that i have it i found the policy file, strange thing, its blank

Are you sure your admin account is the one that’s currently logged in?

i copied the policy file from another user and changed admin to true, everything is back as it should be now

As grim mention how much free space is there on this hard drive that Emby is on?  But a blank xml is an issue also.

plenty of free space, one of my tv drives was full but my main drive with the install has a couple hundred gigs free
