Guide Refresh Causes Server Lockup

This was reported during the beta cycle by others. When the guide refresh scheduled task runs the whole server grinds to a halt. Any playing media freezes and the home screen of any app does not render - just the blue spinning wheel. why did you release this to stable?

Hi, has the amount of time for the guide refresh grown, gotten larger, or is roughly the same but now has this issue?

i updated virtualtv which solved the problem as it removed all my channels. when i update to 4.8.3 i'll reimplement the virtualtv channels and see how it goes. it probably was slower than with 4.7.x. i don't have a large amount of channels, 784 plus 10 or so virtualtv channels

yeah, seems like it was 4.8.x and the older version of virtualtv.
