Danklord 2 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Hey all, I'm on version 4.8.1.0 running on Docker. Suddenly it seems that users on LAN addresses are forced to enter passwords to log in. I tried looking for the old option to enable / disable authentication for LAN clients. Has this been removed or am I likely blind? Cheers!

Login process has been revamped, there's no more distinction between local and remote access, passwords are stored on the devices now and require entering it at least once after which you can optionally protect it with pin. Multiple topics around the forum related to same change. 1
Danklord 2 Posted February 10, 2024 Author Posted February 10, 2024 Ahh thank you! I tried to find something about the change, but must not have found it. Good to know!
Luke 42079 Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Let us know how things go with the new profile pin feature. Thanks.
jiggity 35 Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 You can still create a LAN only account that does not require a password. Make sure you have your LAN netmask set in network settings Setup an account: no admin/management, no emby connect, no remote connections, no password, and any other restrictions it will need for your use - it will continue to work with no password required on the LAN sub-net you entered in the network settings. The LAN only accounts I made before the 4.8 update still function with no password needed.
Luke 42079 Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 For those using Emby for LG, version 1.0.41 has been released and now supports multiple logins as well as the new profile pin feature.
