If you're willing to make a fresh start you could try that.

Yes, you mentioned this and I reported back that my attempt to do so after deleting the following folder, but it unfortunately it gave the same result. I also attached logs. If I am missing anything please let me know.

/var/packages/EmbyServer/var

Thank you

So, is what I am doing not correct?

If the right folder and its content are deleted, should this not ensure a clean reinstall?

If not, what else will?

Thanks

It should. When you start back up do you get the server startup wizard?

Thanks Luke.

So, 2 strange things happened when I tried this again.

I deleted the var folder using rm -r command and then went to use Synology's own package center instead of Emby web page. This time I tried to install what was available which was version 4.7 and this worked when earlier attempts I was getting message that cannot install an earlier version.

It however worked and the package started running without stopping anymore. In previous occasions  after deleting var folder and installing v.4.8, the application would start and then stop again.

Thanks for your help.

Ok, have you tried updating to 4.8 again?

No, I think I will wait now until the next version. Hope this doesn't happen anymore.

After you deleted the folder, When you start back up do you get the server startup wizard?

I got the login page asking for username and password, not a wizard.

How do you open the web app? If you just open http://ip:port

Then that should redirect you to the startup wizard. If you were opening from a bookmark then it's possible that didn't happen.

Initially I opened the application through Synology, so https://url:port

Then through application on LG TV webOS.

OK it sounds to me like the server data folder wasn't deleted, because you should have been taken to the startup wizard and had to setup the entire server again from scratch.
