rawzef 2 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Hi Community, I tried to find a solution in the forum but didn't succeed. I have a problem with the tv show Cosmos: A spacetime Odyssey and Cosmos: Possible Words, when they are in the catalog as one TV Show because emby merge them and inside each episode it shows as there are two versions. I tried the following: Change the folders name and omit the word cosmos, so I named them A spacetime Odyssey and Possible Words. Didn't work Split the versions, but it just two separate episodes of the "same" episode, I mean episode 1 two times, episode 2 two times, and so on. Create one main Cosmos folder, inside create Season 01 and Season 02, not ideal, but still didn't work. It should be 2 different tv shows, but I really don't know how to solve this any ideas? This problem only happens with Cosmos, all the other tv shows I have are ok.
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 TVDB and TMDB both have Cosmos (2014) as one show with two seasons. If you arrange the files into two season folders (Season 1 = A Spacetime Odyssey, Season 2 = Possible Worlds) and number the video files accordingly using the s0xe0y convention, that should get them properly sorted. See the Emby Naming Guide: https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html Paul
rawzef 2 Posted February 8, 2024 Author Posted February 8, 2024 Yeah I tried that too but unfortunately didn't worked i renamed the files as you mentioned. Im not completely happy with that solution tho, cuz they are not 2 seasons of cosmos, they are "two different shows". But if it cannot be done then I'll make my peace with that.
pgriffith 88 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 (edited) My Cosmos is fine, all in one folder with 2 seasons. See image, and pics of my files from the Season 01 & 02 folders Edited February 8, 2024 by pgriffith Typo
rawzef 2 Posted February 8, 2024 Author Posted February 8, 2024 Was it done automatically? As I mentioned for me is not ideal but I am willing to accept that lol As in my main post, I tried to do that but it didn't worked, at least on my side.
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 You could put Season 1 and Season 2 into separate Series folders (with a neutral tweak of the name) and tell Emby not to merge the two (a library setting as I recall), then change the Display name in the metadata. Paul
Luke 42080 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 A quick way to unmerge them is to disable the library option to merge series from different folders, and then run a library scan.
