mjdbb1 6 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Hello all, I seem to be having problems playing files from my emby server to my Roku Ultras. So far, the iOS app seems to be able to play these files fine. They are all 1080p and that seems to be the only thing they have in common. I believe there was a recent update - never had this issue before. The file will play a few seconds, then try to transcode, and then just eventually die. 720p files seem ok. I'm not sure where to go with it. I have logs attached. In the embyserver log there are several attempts to play the file that end with "Error Server: Error processing request". Any help appreciated!!! embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-88ca9f1b-bb5b-4b06-b2fc-49794019a4ca_1.txt
mjdbb1 6 Posted February 8, 2024 Author Posted February 8, 2024 Forgot to include versions: Emby server version is 4.8.1.0, Roku app version is 4.1 build 8. Server is running on an Intel nuc running Windows 10 1809.
Luke 42080 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Hi, how does playing the same video in the web app compare?
mjdbb1 6 Posted February 8, 2024 Author Posted February 8, 2024 It's a little better but skips every few seconds. I should also note, I now see that the files in question that are issues are also x265. However these have not been a problem before.
Luke 42080 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Just now, mjdbb1 said: It's a little better but skips every few seconds. I should also note, I now see that the files in question that are issues are also x265. However these have not been a problem before. Server log from that?
mjdbb1 6 Posted February 8, 2024 Author Posted February 8, 2024 Attached....thanks for looking into it. I was moving things around and that same file I played in the web app was named "test265" in case that matters. embyserver.txt
Luke 42080 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 HI, if you refresh the metadata on one of these titles, does that help with it?
mjdbb1 6 Posted February 10, 2024 Author Posted February 10, 2024 (edited) I actually just tried the latest beta version of the Roku app (sent to me by ebr) and the problem is resolved. I’m not sure what was changed though, I’d love to know. Thank you for all the help. I also tried refreshing the metadata but that did not help. Edited February 10, 2024 by mjdbb1 1
