byakuya32 24 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Dolby vision content is not playing in Dolby vision on my Dolby Vision capable TV. Here are the logs. ffmpeg-transcode-df039753-2453-4155-a4db-71a8d1beeac6_1.txt embyserver.txt
GrimReaper 4739 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 (edited) Your content is being transcoded due to quality settings: Quote TranscodeReasons=ContainerBitrateExceedsLimit Make sure your in-app quality is set to a numerical value higher than item bitrate (in this particular example >50 Mbps) so item would DirectPlay and retain DV. byakuya32 24 Posted February 7, 2024 Author Posted February 7, 2024 Why it's on auto I tried setting it manually and same thing. I also manually set to 100. It appears that it is tonemapping and I ask why? When the TV is Hdr and dolby vision. It was playing back just fine on 4.7. It is a Sony a80j running Android tv.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Yes would would need to see the server and ffmpeg log corresponding to that change. 2024-02-07 12:34:45.168 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectPlay limit: media bitrate: 50192856, max bitrate: 49934297 2024-02-07 12:34:45.168 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectStream limit: media bitrate: 50192856, max bitrate: 49934297
byakuya32 24 Posted February 8, 2024 Author Posted February 8, 2024 other movies are not auto detecting right but if I manually set it to 100 it works that one if I set manually to 100 I loose sound and Dolby Vision does not work

It is on a wired 100mbit connection. Other movies seem to work fine when I manually set the bit rate just the ones that use a .ts extension.
Luke 42077 Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Is this on the local network, or a remote connection?

Luke 42077 Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 So it probably appears to be a remote connection from Emby Server's standpoint. If you're able to configure the LAN networks option to make the server think it's the same network, then auto will essentially become the same thing as unlimited.
