tomasb87 0 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 I hope this is the right section of the forum to ask this. Next to movies and tv shows I use Emby to watch personal videos like from hollidays and birthdays, and I also download videos from Youtube to watch later without ads. I have these files setup in folders on my Windows PC. The files within folders are named randomly, but I recognize them from the displayed picture. Everything worked fine until yesterday, when I noticed some folders were missing/not showing in Emby. Turns out that Emby has randomly decided to rename folders and files, and grouped folders together. It even created 'seasons' within some folders. I tried setting up the library again in the same manner I always did, but the folders and files are changed everytime and also the files are not showing a displayed picture anymore. It looks like Emby is trying to match the files with movies and tv shows, but I'm not sure how. What I used to do was create a new library 'Mixed content' and basically unchecked everything so that it would not try to match with TheTVDB, etc, and this always worked. I just want Emby to follow the folder structure I have setup on my pc and don't change anything. Did something change? Is this not possible anymore? Or is there a different way I can set this up? Thanks for your help.

Even with all meta-providers disabled, in Mixed-content type library parser will always try to determine whether an item is a movie or a TV show/episode. 20 minutes ago, tomasb87 said: I just want Emby to follow the folder structure I have setup on my pc and don't change anything. Still strange though that the Mixed content used to always work fine and is acting weird now.

Thats more of a coincidence or a hole that has been plugged in the latest server version with naming conventions/logic for identifying content being ever-developed/improved. 1
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Mixed Content works specifically for well-formed movie and series folder structures and naming. In fact, I suspect that for these it is more picky than separate libraries of Movie and TV types, because it has to decide which kind of lookup to do for each item based on that information. Since Home Video doesn't go looking up on the Internet, it doesn't have the same requirements. Paul
Luke 42080 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 HI there, can you please provide a specific example of what you're referring to?
