sittingmongoose 5 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 (edited) @LukeI am also having this issue. Remote access works fine, I invited a user(my first time doing this) and when they try to connect I get "We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again.". This was in Edge. I just tried another PC and that also wouldn't work in Edge. When I used firefox, it worked. Edited February 7, 2024 by sittingmongoose
Luke 42079 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 @sittingmongoosewhat address is in the browser address bar? Have you setup https on your emby server?
sittingmongoose 5 Posted February 7, 2024 Author Posted February 7, 2024 Address is https://app.emby.media/#/startup/selectserver.html server address is my local ip(I’m remote) I didn’t setup https on emby. It’s weird though that I have no issues in the app or Firefox remotely though.
GrimReaper 4740 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Just now, sittingmongoose said: Address is https://app.emby.media/#/startup/selectserver.html I didn’t setup https on emby. You need to dump "s" from "https" in that address, i.e. it should read: http://app.emby.media.

That works. Is there a reason Firefox and Safari work as expected and Chrome/edge don’t? I understand the https component but it seems like safari and Firefox are working around it correctly and chrome/edge doesn’t. Is this something Emby can fix?

To get round that you would need to setup SSL.

Neminem 1519 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 (edited) Yes, But you can get around that see @GrimReaper post above. Edited February 7, 2024 by jaycedk
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Firefox can do it too - hence my post linked above by @GrimReaper includes details of disabling that in Firefox as well as Chrome. Paul
