@LukeI am also having this issue.  Remote access works fine, I invited a user(my first time doing this) and when they try to connect I get "We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again.".  This was in Edge.    I just tried another PC and that also wouldn't work in Edge. When I used firefox, it worked.

@sittingmongoosewhat address is in the browser address bar? Have you setup https on your emby server?

Address is https://app.emby.media/#/startup/selectserver.html

server address is my local ip(I’m remote)

I didn’t setup https on emby.

It’s weird though that I have no issues in the app or Firefox remotely though.

You need to dump "s" from "https" in that address, i.e. it should read:

http://app.emby.media.

That works.

Is there a reason Firefox and Safari work as expected and Chrome/edge don’t?  I understand the https component but it seems like safari and Firefox are working around it correctly and chrome/edge doesn’t.

Is this something Emby can fix?

Nope.

To get round that you would need to setup SSL.

Or disable force redirecting, either per-site basis or browser-wide.

Is it because chrome defaults or forces to ssl and Firefox/safari dont?

Yes,

But you can get around that see @GrimReaper post above.

Firefox can do it too - hence my post linked above by @GrimReaper includes details of disabling that in Firefox as well as Chrome.
