skydemon 1 Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Hello, TBH I am in desperation(((( Wasted almost all day today and still doesn't work((( I had Emby server installed on my small pc with Windows 8.1 x86 and everything worked ok until yesterday. I did nothing prior to what happened next. The embryo server is up and running (I see the icon in the tray) and when I choose settings or brows library I see the page that I can't reach localhost. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the server but nothing helped. As soon as I finish initial setup and should be able to see the video library in the web browser on the machine where Emby server installed, I am constantly getting this issue. I am angry, mad and I don't know what to do. I've checked all the setting in Windows and checked ports (they are opened), tried to completely disable windows firewall and I even reinstall the windows today!!! but nothing helped, I am able only finish the initial setup and then again localhost not accessible. Tried to find any info on internet but it looks like nobody had such issue. Curious fact, might help. When I manually launch server (EmbyServer.exe) it opens main page in the browser and I even can see some menus and folders, but that'll because I can't navigate and nothing happened if I click on any link on the page (eg settings, profile, library and etc) but as soon as I read the page I see that I can't reach localhost anymore((((( It is happening on the fresh windows install, were installed only nessasary drivers and everything what Emby installs. Any help please. server-install.log embyserver-63842755070.txt embyserver-63842755125.txt embyserver.txt hardware_detection-63842753582.txt

Luke 42080 Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Hi, are there any crashes in windows event viewer related to this?
Neminem 1519 Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 I guess this answers you question @Luke Windows 8.1 x86 = 32bit OS
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 My guess will be the same issues with Windows 7 discussed linked below. Does event viewer show net runtime crashes? Can you try changing to this sqllite version posted here?
Luke 42080 Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 HI, yes please follow that other topic for news on this. Thanks.
skydemon 1 Posted February 6, 2024 Author Posted February 6, 2024 I think that was happened because of the new version updated recently, as I wrote at the beginning everything worked fine for a year or so. Thanks for the viewer advice, I've made a screenshot and attached it to this post. Going to install the previous version or the next beta from to try. one mere curios fact I found. If I used the official installer and then complete swap the system folder with 4.7.xx Emby server version, then nothing worked. The previous version works only if official 4.8 uninstalled and and the server just started from unpacked archived version (GitHub distributed version)
skydemon 1 Posted February 6, 2024 Author Posted February 6, 2024 HELP! HELP HELP!!!!! Please! Help me to deny Emby 4.7.X Server auto update! Disabling that from web interface DO NOT help! It's constantly updating even if uncheck that feature!

Disabling that from web interface DO NOT help! It's constantly updating even if uncheck that feature! Emby only downloads the update, it doesn't install it until there is a re-start. Install 4.7.14 then un-check auto updates and save settings, don't re-start the server or the PC. Browse to 'AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\updates' then delete the files in the updates folder. Now it will be safe to restart. You will still get the notification on the dashboard about an update just don't install it manually. You can test this quickly by not adding any libraries during the install wizard.

Luke 42080 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 If you're on Windows 32-bit and seeing crashing on startup, we'll be getting a 4.8.1 update out to resolve this. If you need immediate relief, the fix is already in the beta channel in version 4.9.0.1+. Thanks guys.

skydemon 1 Posted February 7, 2024 Author Posted February 7, 2024 Thanks to everyone who helped! Because I did so many tests during that time I will try to install 4.9.0.1 (I've tried 4.9.0) and see if it worked out. Currently I found a solution with fake upgrade. Right after fresh install (actually just launch server from unarchived folder) Emby immediately downloads the new version. I had to remove that file and just create the fake one with the same name but with 0 bytes, the update process worked out (saw in processes) but the version didn't changed and everything works fine.
skydemon 1 Posted February 7, 2024 Author Posted February 7, 2024 Can confirm that 4.9.0.1 Beta has a fix, as everything works. 1
