wyhghost 0 Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 The multi version naming method I have been using before is to add [xxx] after the folder name, for example: Quote /movie name /movie name/movie name.mp4 /movie name/movie name[Raw].mkv /movie name/moviename.ass /movie name/moviename.png /movie name/moviename.nfo Both before and now, this method was available as it automatically recognizes two videos as two versions of the same movie. I encountered an issue after updating version 4.8.0.80, The system will automatically prioritize the [Raw] version, which causes cover files and nfo files with the same file name as the movie to not be used.(moviename.png,moviename.nfo) What are the default video judgment criteria in multi version videos and is there a way to modify them,May I ask if there is a way to solve this problem? For many reasons, using the dash method is inconvenient for me,May I continue to use this method to name multiple versions of movies? Thanks!
wyhghost 0 Posted February 4, 2024 Author Posted February 4, 2024 After this version update, most of the multi version movies are the same as before, but some movies have encountered the issue of using [Raw] as the default media, as I mentioned earlier
wyhghost 0 Posted February 4, 2024 Author Posted February 4, 2024 Also, everything is normal in folder mode as before This has caused me to search for a movie now, but there is no metadata and cover in the "Popular Results" section, and there is metadata and cover in the "Movie" section
wyhghost 0 Posted February 4, 2024 Author Posted February 4, 2024 I just tried following the naming convention Quote /movie name /movie name/movie name - Chs.mp4 /movie name/movie name - Raw.mkv /movie name/moviename.chs.ass /movie name/poster.png The system automatically generated two metadata files, which are:movie name - Raw.nfo, movie name - Chs.nfo When I modify metadata, I only modify one nfo file, When I opened from "Movies" and "Popular Results" in search, I modified “movie name - Raw.nfo”, When I opened from "folder" and "Movies" in search, I modified “movie name - Chs.nfo” In addition, subtitle files can only be loaded into one version, and subtitle file names must also be named after the movie name and version,It seems that the previous version 4.7.14.0 was not like this.
Luke 42080 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Quote In addition, subtitle files can only be loaded into one version, and subtitle file names must also be named after the movie name and version HI, yes this is by design. Each version has it's own subtitles because the files could be different.

But when I modify metadata, I only modify one nfo file,I think this is a problem, or is it intentionally designed? Also, I heard that the characters in [] are not recognized, is that so?

When I use this naming format, two files are recognized as multiple versions. In addition, my movie name is "[studio] movie name", and when I recognized your movie name as "movie name", [studio] was ignored.

If that's the case, I think the current multi version logic is very unfriendly to such libraries, just like the problems I described above.

OK. If you were to remove the library and add it back with the home videos content type, then this shouldn't happen anymore.

Is there a better solution to the issue of two nfo files for multi version movies and the movie library for manually adding data that I mentioned earlier?
