In my case, I deleted the tags in the "edit metadata" option and deleted them easily enough. I was just pointing out that in my backups (/metadata/tags), the tags are still in there even though I deleted them and Emby no longer shows them... In @Painkiller8818case, I think the issue is that the tags have been removed from the files, and now they can't be removed from the Emby interface anymore. I assume "rescan library files" has been tried in their case? Edit library, three dots, rescan? That should tell Emby to look for changed files... And a metadata refresh? Thanks... 1

Hi, yes exactly, i scanned the library a few times but as those elements normally not show up in any library i can't update those files. Theme.mp3 files normally should be ignored from analyze as media file in the normal way as they are just background sounds. There is no option for me to update or edit them with metadata editor, as i have to select a library in which i wanna edit items, and i can't do this for theme songs. Thanks

2. Emby-Server neu starten und Bibliothek scannen. So in Etwa in "geplante Aufgaben" -> "Library" -> "Scan media library" manuell ausführen. Warten bis der Scan durchgelaufen ist. Dann sollten die leeren Tags verschwunden sein. 3. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Had the same problem as you. Solution: 1. Move "all" theme.mp3 (unless you know which one is the trigger) to a new location. When moving, make sure that the directory structure is preserved. Otherwise, later assignment will be difficult. 2. Restart Emby server and scan library. Something like "Scheduled Tasks" -> "Library" -> "Scan media library" Manually! Wait until the scan has finished. Then the empty tags should be gone. 3. Remove all metadata information from the theme.mp3 ("title; artist; album; date" is not required. But can theoretically be retained.) For this you can use, for example, "Metatogger"; "Mp3tag"; "Metadata++" <- all free. For me, the strings in question were contained in the metadata tags “WORK” and “Stimmungen”. The metadata tag “Stimmungen” was not recognized and displayed by any metadata program. I was only able to get rid of them easily using the Windows function “Properties” -> “Details” -> “Remove properties and personal information”. 4. Pushing back all theme.mp3. If real-time monitoring is set, Emby should automatically re-read them all. Otherwise, run “Scan media library” manually. I also wanted to avoid manually editing the database. Before something goes wrong and I have to rebuilt the entire database. Since editing the theme.mp3 is necessary anyway. This should be the best approach and can be carried out by anyone without much knowledge. Great side effect: I was also able to immediately identify all the defective theme.mp3s that repeatedly led to playback problems. Edited February 22, 2024 by oesi03 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 True but themes should be excluded from reading tags altogether as you will have this issue with every new theme that is gotten.

Painkiller88 249 Posted February 22, 2024 Author Posted February 22, 2024 @oesi03 Thanks with the scheduled Task to scan the library it worked. Strange a normal click on the library and scan library seems not to do the same and make a clean re analyse of the files because i already removed all tags from the files. Lucky me i wrote a script to backup all theme songs and to restore them so i did it really quick to copy them away, delete them and after the scan i restored them using my script. Now the tags are clean but this should be fixed by emby devs because of new items and all my theme files are downloaded automatically using the theme song plugin Thanks for the idea about really deleting all of them and scan instead of just scan the library again
As long as the objects exist - i.e. the theme.mp3 - Emby will not delete the metadata from the database. Instead, it merely updates them. But it doesn't overwrite existing data with "non-existent data" So first the objects have to go so that Emby deletes the unnecessary metadata from the database with a library scan. If you then add theme.mp3 again, they are new files for Emby. Since I haven't tried adding back corrupted theme.mp3, I don't know if the error still occurs or, as @Luke suspected, it comes from an earlier version and is only now showing up. 1
