pdeliot 10 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Hi, Since 4.8.80 deployment, my media libraries are displayed twice: Do I missed something?
queenbuzzo 11 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 I have the same issue. If I select a movie or an episode of a series, it seems that the Emby server thinks there are two versions of it: I have no idea why that happens but it certainly a bit annoying so any help is appreciated.
doug.dimick 13 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 My problem is slightly different, but may be related. After the 4.8.80 install I have two new libraries that show up on the clients (web, iOS, ATV, desktop) that do *not* appear in my server configuration. They do not appear to be duplicates, even though one of them has the same name as a working/previous library. So now I have two Libraries named "Movies". One that existed before, works fine, is populated, continues to work fine. I have another that appears only on the clients, same name, but has no content, images, thumbnails, or anything else. I also have an existing library called "Series". This continues to work fine. However, after 4.8.80, I also have a "TV" library on the clients. It is empty, no content, images, thumbnails, etc. This appears to be purely a cosmetic bug, but obviously it is a little confusing for the user and I would like to stop these new phantom libraries from appearing on the clients.
Neminem 1519 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 I think its still scanning from the looks of your second screen shoot. Let it finish and check again.
doug.dimick 13 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Those were screenshots from last night, this problem still exists before/after scanning and right now, while the server is quiescent. Here are fresh ones from the Mac desktop client, if it helps.
pdeliot 10 Posted February 3, 2024 Author Posted February 3, 2024 You're right... Not duplicate, but folder with same name. Looks to map to categories on live TV !? 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Not sure if all these duplicate issues are related as I have a similar issue. So, the question becomes when you click on the duplicated library where it goes as mine are LiveTV. The api shows there are not {"Type": "CollectionFolder", "CollectionType": "tvshows"} (tvshows/movies) but {"Type": "UserView", "CollectionType": "livetv"},. Waiting on a PM from dev but may be Live TV related. As a quick fix I found the itemids in the database and removed the id from "AncestorIds2" and "MediaItems" tables. 1
doug.dimick 13 Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 You are right, these new phantom libraries are both type LiveTV when I enter them from the client. That's not a feature I use, or can recall configuring in the past. 1
Junglejim 385 Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 (edited) This is very strange. Your saying you don't use livetv not even VirtualTV? No Settings set for livetv/recordings? I use virtualtv and have a recordings folder but that's filled by tvheadend. Strange! I know I let my update finish, there was a lot of db updates going on.. some could of got impatient and just restarted.. Especially when it say "Please restart your server" on the dash as soon as you log back in!! Still loading/converting the db thank you very much! not right now!! Edited February 4, 2024 by Junglejim
queenbuzzo 11 Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 Interesting, I don't see any duplicate libraries but that would explain the duplicate entries I suppose. I have also added a new item yesterday and that is fine and doesn't have duplicate entry. Looks like some in the database got corrupted and I really hope this can be solved easily.

I had the same problem but luckily some user in the forum found the solution (which worked for me): Click the three dots of these phantom libraries, edit images and delete existing images. After that, the library should disapear. 1 1

I just created an empty file at the bogus image file path first, so that Emby would actually have something to delete. After restarting the client, the bad libraries are gone, and appear to be gone on all clients that I’ve checked. ~~~Unfortunately, that didn’t work for me. The image, as it were, is just a pointer to a bad file location, and it cannot be deleted from the client.~~~ Edited February 4, 2024 by doug.dimick
Luke 42079 Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 For those who are seeing extra top level folders pointing to live tv, this has been resolved for the 4.8.1 maintenance release that we'll be releasing in the coming days. Thanks. 2 1 2
