Notifications sent to users of new media added

I’ve searched a lot of different subs and cannot find one that directly relates to my question.  How can I go about setting up a trigger to send a message via Facebook messenger group or via WhatsApp to users of my server when new media has been added?

Hi, we don't have integrations for these specific destinations (whatsapp/facebook).

Therefore you'd have to use webhooks to send the notifications to something like IFFFT. Then in IFFFFT you can receive the webhook, transform it into whatever format that facebook and whatsapp need, and then send it to them.

hi, another way to do so would be to install a plugin like pushbullet

I use it to check who is watching a movie/show on my server to check how much users are watching.

So just install pushbullet or something else, register an account for free, and create your own channel.

after this you can configure notifications for new added media and everyone in this channel will get the notifications

I just set up a notification trigger under Library -> Scheduled Tasks that sends alerts to users when new media is added. Worked fine after tweaking my user permissions and notification settings.

I ran into something similar and ended up setting up webhooks in Emby to trigger notifications. I'm using them with a cloud auto dialer to alert users by voice when new media drops. It took a bit of testing to get the payload right, but combining Emby events with external tools really opened things up for custom notifications. I didn't even have to mess with plugin development.
