Rotten Tomatoes score wildly incorrect?

Recommended Posts

In Emby, I see the movie with a "fresh" score of 28%:

In Rotten Tomatoes itself, I see it's got a score of 96%:

Most other ones are correct...where does one look to find out which ones are wrong and how can one fix them? .../Taras

RottenTomatoes score comes from OMDb API/plugin, for that particular movie score is as shown.

Save manual check/comparison, can't think of a way.

That score belongs to Pinocchio (2022) with Tom Hanks.

Your identity for the media is incorrect. Either a look up mistake because both films were released in 2022.  Or you didn't start with the full correct name for your media file.  The folder name should be:
  Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022)
Or perhaps calling the media file itself by the wrong name.  It should be named:
 Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022) - 2160P.mkv

Just using the name Pinocchio (2022) for folder and file names was wrong.

To fix this:

  1. Right click on the 3 dots.
  2. Choose Identity
  3. Use the IMDB db entry and enter tt1488589
  4. Choose Search
  5. Click on the poster icon.
  6. Unclick replace existing images.
  7. Click OK

Then only use the name listed in imdb with the year in parenthesis for all future media file uploads.  This should keep this error from happening again.

Hope that helps.

It isn't, metadata available is for Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022).

Same runtime, genres, tagline, overview, directors, logo as on TMDB.

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022) — The Movie Database (TMDB) (themoviedb.org)

More likely that's an error on OMDb's part - incorrect link with the other Pinocchio movie - and subsequently shown in Emby.

Would appear to be the correct answer. Unable to find any way to interrogate the OMDB plugin though.

You can query OMDb API on their webpage and get result as posted:

If a 3rd party dbase error causes this, how do you improve the results?  Are you suggesting a double check feature with a different query and then present two possible result posters with an alert, for the user to choose the correct data? How often does this fail?  Also, the user would probably not notice the critics rottentomatoes number as being wrong.  If the correct movie data appears and the critic review number is wrong, it is hard to spot.

You can't, hence:

There could be no double check as RottenTomatoes score can come only from OMDb API.

Read above.

Short of getting an API key and filling your log,  you can report bugs with the OMDB API here: https://github.com/omdbapi/OMDb-API/issues

It looks like they are having a lot of data call issues, and if I am reading the old posts accurately there are issues with the Rotten Tomatoes api and other things.
