BillOatman 596 Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 This is a recent example .. Note no rating. The series is correctly identified in Emby: But no rating appears. IMDB has a rating. What needs to be present for Emby to use a rating?
Solution GrimReaper 4740 Posted January 28, 2024 Solution Posted January 28, 2024 1 minute ago, BillOatman said: What needs to be present for Emby to use a rating? OMDB meta-provider enabled in your library settings. 1
Luke 42078 Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 What metadata fetchers are enabled on the library and in what order?

BillOatman 596 Posted January 28, 2024 Author Posted January 28, 2024 @GrimReaper @Luke I enabled OMDB and I still get no ratings after rescan. TVDB doesn't seem to have any ratings.

It says a refresh is required after changing sources. I did that, the Masters of the Air still had no ratings. @GrimReaper's thought of it being too new for OMDB to have IMDB ratings has merit since refreshing other older series that had no ratings populated them.

What exactly did you do? Did you compare to what omdb and tvdb have? Do either of them have a rating for it?

The older series had ratings populated, Masters of the Air still did not. As per @GrimReaper's post Masters of the Air has no ratings in OMDB yet. TVDB has no ratings. OMDB has no rating for that series yet. Is there a way to use IMDB for TV series that I am not seeing? Seems IMDB carries TV series as well. Edited January 28, 2024 by BillOatman

BillOatman 596 Posted January 28, 2024 Author Posted January 28, 2024 I just added a feature request to be able to use IMDB for TV Series, thanks guys.

Cool, then just keep in mind that it's dependent of your preferred meta-providers order, i.e. if all meta-fetchers enabled as in: 1 hour ago, BillOatman said: and both TMDB retrurning their rating and OMDB returning IMDB rating, you'll get TMDB rating, not IMDB rating under Community Rating. Maybe you'd want to move OMDB one place up, so availability basically goes IMDB>TMDB and not vice-versa. 1
AJAYSWebDesign 5 Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 Just to add to this post.... EMBY is basically using the ratings from themoviedb (TMDB)..... Most of us check on ratings (for TV Shows at least) from IMDB. The ratings can be wildly different btwn the 2, with the major reason being the sample size or number of 'votes'. For example... The TV show "Your Friends and Neighbors" has a rating on TMDB of 6.7, whilst IMDB has a rating of 7.8.... The sample size on TMDB is just 18.... whilst IMDB has a sample size of 2,600..... I think EMBY developers should be taking note of this and either switch to IMDB or scrap the ratings altogether as TMDB is just poor to misleading......
