Long titles are cut off on ALL platforms. No scrolling/expansion

I'm running the Emby client on Windows, Android, the web app and my Samsung smart TV.

Long titles are cut off in every platform that I use.

They no longer scroll when a show/film is selected.

On the desktop and Samsung TV apps, they're at least followed by an ellipsis, where the title is cut off.

But the web app straight up just clips the edge of the text.

This honestly feels like incredibly basic functionality that's missing. And I'm sure that this functionality did exist previously?

The desktop app shows the full title if you hover with the mouse.  There is simple CSS to put in the server settings to make the web app show the full title:

/*---- wrap card text - long movie names etc ----*/
div.cardText {white-space: pre-wrap;}

The Emby app on Roku will allow the title/subtitle to wrap to fill the text container gap. But depending on how many filters are enabled there may not be room for the title/subtitle to span. The title/subtitle will only span multiples line when an otherwise blank line would've been in the text container gap. Just making everyone aware that some apps do already allow for this when possible.

Hi, this never existed before. Have you tried mousing over them? You should get a tooltip display with the full title.

Nothing happens when I mouse over them - I am running with the TV display mode, not Desktop. (I have a 43" monitor on my PC and essentially use it as a TV if I'm in that room). The majority of the time that I'm watching, I'm using the TV app on my smart TV. Around half the titles in my library are cropped at the moment. I find it frustrating, and I at least know what's in my library. But anyone else watching that isn't as familiar isn't going to have a clue what anything is when they can't see half the title of the show/film they're looking at!

Just having the title scroll or expand outwards when you hover an item would be a pretty reasonable solution, without affecting the overall layout of everything else.

Is there anywhere I can submit this as a feature request? It seems like a rather glaring omission, when we're talking about something as basic as a media streaming platform presenting titles within its own media library in a readable manner!

Ah, unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be the case with the Smart TV app!

Thank you, I appreciate the help!

Unfortunately though, I only really use the web UI for managing my library! The majority of the time I'm using the Smart TV app!

OK I think being able to scroll the title of the focused item makes sense, and is something we can look at. But we've never had it before so it's not as if we just removed it.

That sounds like a good solution!

And ah, I must be thinking of another platform/streaming service, my bad!
