Emby trying to delete poster on filesystem

Hi

I have the same problem, but this is for "home videos and pictures".

I have added .nfo file and xxx-poster.xxx picture file. But when it scans into library, it uses the nfo file but delete my pictures.

Even if it is set to download (it wont find anything) it delete and create one out of the video.

IMO it should never delete something regardless of what you choose to use, locally or external.

That's why I'm coming here to ask. In my head it should not happen. And I can't see any solution in the settings for the library that should delete pictures at all.

Please see pictures of library setup:

What exactly is it that you think happened?

I think Emby is deleting them under the library scan. But why, I can't tell.

I thought local files always was used if nothing else is told, and I haven't set it to save files to local folders. This should not delete any files, if so why?

It doesn't delete files. What makes you think that it is? Can you please provide a specific example?

Thanks.

Sorry for this, this was just an stupid Windows user setup. No Emby problem 🙂

If any other get this error, it's windows that deletes the pictures after you close the window you are working in, if you don't have the right permissions. The user I used did not har Admin rights, so when I have added the pictures, renamed and closed the windows. Startet the scan in emby, windows most likely had deleted all my work.. Logged in as admin, it now works.

Thanks again for answers, you got to me get a littlebit more curious and that helped. Again, THANKS
