Possible to Merge Two Libraries Without Losing Watch/Like Data?

Recommended Posts

I have two libraries, Movies and New Movies.  I want to combine them.  IDEALLY I would like to move all the files from the New Movies folder into the Movies folder, but I don't want to have to go through and find/mark movies as Fav and/or Watched.

I know I can just add the New Movies folder to the Movies library, but wasn't sure if that would retain the data either.

I didn't see any kind of "Move" option in the UI either.

Suggestions?

It would/will. New Movies would be re-added/re-scanned as new items, but userdata (watchstates/playstates) will be retained.

To 100% clarify, this is correct as long as the movies/tv shows/episodes being 'moved' have ProviderID's (tvdb etc) - as that is what is used for the watchstate.

If you moved a 'home videos' library for example - this would not retain watched states, as a new emby uniqueid would be created, meaning that playstate would be lost because there is no way to link it back to old item.

Hmm, not sure how that really works out as sometimes when my tv shows upgrade say from TV rips to bluray it loses my watch state. Its not always consistent though (I think), so not sure what triggers it.
