Okok!! So...We now have a pubic source for animated music album art.

https://covers.musichoarders.xyz/ This is the link to the place in question

I was wondering if we could get it added as a feature? Just for when you're on the page though! Kinda like Apple Music...I've been searching for a self streaming platform similar to what Spotify and Apple Music have...

:P

I have the 4.8 beta server.  Where do I find this?  I'd like to try it out.

You can make the main primary image an animated gif.

I don't see how.  I go to the music album, select add, and .gif is not a supported file type.  If I select all files, and select the .gif, nothing happens.

You could try replacing your current image in the folder manually in the file system and then run a library scan.

This works, awesome!

A question, and suggestion while I'm here...  Is this broken, that I can't upload the .gif in the UI?

And the suggestion would be to add another image type to the "manage images" section.  Call it whatever...  "Now Playing Image" or something.  And let the media players (like my Apple TV's) use this image in Now Playing screens if one is specified.  So your library shows the static image, but when it's playing it shows the alternate image (like an animated .gif).  That would be a nice touch, instead of the animated equalizer thing we now have in the corner.

Have a good day.

Ahh. ok I figured it out. I uploaded all the gif art via the web interface but emby converted it to png. Going into the metadata folder and replacing the images with gif worked!
