Why does emby keep deselecting upcoming recordings?

This has become a persistent problem.  I queue up a bunch of recordings and forget about it and sometimes when I go looking for the recordings after they were supposed to be recorded they weren't.  I'm not talking about an aborted recording or the like because there is no folder where there should be.  At times when I go to the guide, like just now, and find a recording that is supposed to be in progress never started because it was deslected....but I double checked that recording last night before I went to bed.  Not only was this one deselected but several others after it on the same channel.  

This is ridiculous because it is a recurring common problem for me.  Doesn't give me much confidence in LiveTV, among many other issues that make it useless as a cable equipment replacement.  Three years after the NextTV was supposedly coming out I'm paying $30 a month for equipment I SHOULDN'T need but I do.  I guess from now for really important recordings I will have to use my TIVO also and then download the recording to my computer if emby fails me.

Any idea why this is happening?  Cost me a hard to find movie today.

How am I supposed to give you an example Luke?  Today at 5PM on TCM emby was supposed to record a movie.....completely skipped it.  I was scrolling through TCM for the future and on Friday night all four movies I made DOUBLE SURE I had checked to record after making this thread from 8:15PM until 5AM CST are now deselected.  I don't know how to prove this to you, this is a very common occurence now and this is on my stable server, not the beta.  Doesn't seem to happen on the beta and if it does it is so infrequent I forget about it.

How can I quote a log from the time....when I have no idea when it happened that emby decided to deselect my recordings.  I don't know when it happened.

The log below is the only actual log file that isn't a transcode one for today.  These recordings were selected last night.

This can be a provider issue. Are you using an m3u?

I made sure those movies were selected the other day right after I made this thread.  Then yesterday after I found emby didn't record "The Glass Bottomed Boat" at 5 PM I double checked and sure enough these four movies were deselected.  This happens all the time on this W11 machine using the stable version of emby.  It rarely if ever happens on my test server which is W10 and the beta version of emby.

What xml guide are you using? Are you using an m3u?

OK, let's pick one of those examples. How is the series recording configured? Screenshots and lots of detail are highly encouraged.

These are movies, not series Luke.  Pick Ishtar since it's the easiest to find in a field of text.

Series are set to record everything because if you set it to not record items in library emby doesn't record things you need most of the time yet keeps recording things you have.  LiveTV is broken in many many ways Luke, and has been for years.

It is pages of the same with all selected.  I'm not posting that many pages.  Plus, I am talking about MOVIES, emby always records my TV shows.

Ok, I actually have the same set up. W11, m3u and Emby guide data. When you say the recording is de-selected do you see a greyed out circle (normally red when it’s set to record) when you look at the program on the guide?

As a side point sometimes the streams are not recordable. Not saying that’s what’s happening here but it is possible.

Except when that happens you end up with a folder where the recording was supposed to be and an NFO file and nothing else.

Seems emby is failing to reach your tuner quite often. (presumably that's whats on port 5004? Again I don't use live tv, doing what I can) I'd guess emby removes scheduled recordings when it fails to reach their source.

That's what he showed a screenshot of so that's what I thought the problem was related to.  But yes there are a lot of communication failures in his log, not just to HDHR but other things as well. It's possible that at times the server machine's entire network connection is disconnected. Or possibly being blocked by firewall or security software.

Some guide data sources treat everything as a series. I really was just looking for more information.

But I think the communication failures in the log give you something to look into, right?
