FlapZappa 0 Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 I tried to delete watched videos via emby and I keep getting There was an error deleting the item from the emby server. Please check the emby server has write access to the media folder and try again. I am not sure where these permissions need to be set. Any help would be appreciated I am running on windows 10 and the files are on a local usb drive
js28194 36 Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 (edited) The user that is logged into Windows (not emby) who launches Emby must have read/write/delete permissions over the folder in USB drive. Using Control Panel To change an account type using Control Panel, use these steps: 1. Open Control Panel. 2. Under the "User Accounts" section, click the Change account type option. 3. Select the account that you want to change. 4. Click the Change the account type option. 5. Select either Standard or Administrator as required. 6. Click the Change Account Type button. After you complete the steps, the next time the user signs in to the account, it'll be limited to the permissions allowed by the user group that you specified. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-do-i-grant-myself-full-admin-rights/d2b4e3fd-42b6-42f5-b27e-4e33f961f9d1 Edited January 21, 2024 by js28194
Luke 42080 Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Hi, yes @FlapZappait sounds like emby server is being denied write access to the folder. Please check on this and try again. Let us know if this helps. Thanks.
