swarnock89 1 Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Hello I am attempting to setup my Emby Server for remote connections. I have gone into my user settings and added my Emby Connect email to my user. I am using a Google Nest Wifi and have opened port 8096 for the computer that is running my emby server. However, when I attempt to access my server on my Android device when not connected to my network, I am unable to connect. I am also unable to connect when attemtpting to navigate to teh remote access URL. I have ran through the steps on the Connectivity page and am still unable to connect remotely.

Did you try to connect with leaving the port section blank ?
pwhodges 2012 Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Did you do the checks for whether you are behind cgNAT? Paul
swarnock89 1 Posted January 16, 2024 Author Posted January 16, 2024 I was actually able to connect by using the WAN ip and port. I was unable to get it to load up using Emby Connect
Neminem 1519 Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 I wonder if op, has opened port/ports in its router. 1

I was unable to get it to load up using Emby Connect Ah, so remote access is working, but Connect is not. I never use it (there's no point for me), so I'll defer to others to guide you. But first, are you using http://emby.media in a browser for the Connect connection? If so, you need to check this out: Paul
rbjtech 5284 Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Possibly related to browsers defaulting to https - which you have not setup. The fact it works using wan ip/port:8096) confirms connectivity is working just fine. Maybe add 'Emby Connect' as a safe site / http only within the browser ? (sorry, i don't use emby connect either ...)
Luke 42080 Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 What exactly happens when you try to connect?
