jazzmonger 1 Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Ok, a focus on implementing features for the growing population of deaf folks would be really great... we're already handicapped as it is. Also, I have one movie called "The Debt" and using the SubTitle search function comes up blank. I can find the subtitle file on the web, but how do I add it to my movie????? and why wouldn't it be found? its on OpenSubtitles... and the attached .srt file is in english. https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/all/search-movie/q-osdb:70863/hearing_impaired-hearing_impaired-1/machine_translated-machine_translated-1/trusted_sources-trusted_sources-1 Jeff
visproduction 315 Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Opensubtitles page just shows: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FAILED The button on that page does not find the content. Use a site that has links that work. https://subscene.com/subtitles/the-debt

Have you properly configured plugin settings with your username/password? Having no issues searching for The Debt subs. visproduction 315 Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Jazz, Opensubtitles is working today for me. When you download the titles you want, name the file the same name as the video media and add extensions as needed. Video file: The Debt (2011) - 720P.mp4 Downloaded file from opensubtitles: The Debt.srt Rename it to: The Debt (2011) - 720P.en.srt If you want to force the English subs to be on, or if you have several language subtitles and want one to be one, then do this: The Debt (2011) - 720P.en.default.srt The Debt (2011) - 720P.fr.srt The Debt (2011) - 720P.de.srt If you happen to have a 1080P copy of the movie, then you need to copy the subs as well and rename them. The Debt (2011) - 1080P.mp4 The Debt (2011) - 1080P.en.default.srt This is the naming method to get the subs to show up correctly. === Grim, search result download links seem to time out. The link goes nowhere now. === Hope that helps.

As said, having no issues either following above link or searching manually on the website. Maybe you're being geo-blocked or some browser extension is interferring.
visproduction 315 Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 (edited) Maybe you have a membership. Try on another browser. I get an error page. Or some other issue like this: https://scrapeops.io/web-scraping-playbook/403-forbidden-error-web-scraping/#easy-way-to-solve-403-forbidden-errors-when-web-scraping Edited January 16, 2024 by visproduction

Your reply to OP made me think you cannot follow posted link. 1
