y29shi 8 Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 For many shows, all the episodes have the same length of opening and ending musics. In my TV box, I can set the stating time and ending time for a whole season, list 2:30 for the start and 1:30 for the end, so that it will play all the episodes in this season starting at 2 min and 30 sec, and auto start the next episode if the remaining time is only 1 min and 30 sec. Can we do something like this in emby server and let the client to turn on/off this function?
Neminem 1519 Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 This will help you with intro's, but not credits.

I'll try this function out, but it seems like it's auto-detect the intro part, is it precise? If the auto-detect is not correct for some shows, can we manually set the intro time for those shows?
Neminem 1519 Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 If something is detected wrongly, I guess you can use this plugin to edit your chapter markers. I have never had any use for that plugin.

If the Intro is repeatable on more than 2-3 episodes per season - then the detection is very accurate. There are some limitations, such as the intro must be over ~10 seconds in length and must complete within the first 12 minutes of the start of the episode (I think) - but it should work on the vast majority of intro's. If not, and as @jaycedkhas said above - you can use this plugin to manually edit the markers. The original Introskip Plugin also detected the Credits and added other bells and whstles, but this is no longer supported. The good news is the Plugin above allows you to manually add these Credit markers - depending on the client, this then automatically brings up the 'next episode' option when it hits the credit marker, as opposed to waiting x seconds before the end of the episode. The original Introskip Plugin allowed you to auto skip to the next episode automatically, but unfortunately the new marker method does not give you this option, only to skip the actual intro itself...

I see... that very good! Thank you for the explanation! Actually I was wondering how it detects the intro and part? like how does it know which part is the intro?
Neminem 1519 Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Not 100% sure, but I think its via sound + black screen.

Actually I was wondering how it detects the intro and part? like how does it know which part is the intro? It's uses a technology called Chromaprint - effectively an AUDIO fingerprint of the first 10 minutes of the episode - these are compared against each other for matches - and that part is singled out as the Intro. 1 hour ago, jaycedk said: Not 100% sure, but I think its via sound + black screen. We used a combination of things including Black Frame Detection for the credits - but the core does not do this as it has no need to, from my understanding, it just uses Chromaprint. 1

Hi, I just checked the server and it finally finished the detection. However, in this post, it said that I can set the client skip intro's in the playback menu - I couldn't find this menu. Where is this setting?
