Arthur0618 0 Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 I can play MP4 files but MKV files don't seem to populate?

Luke 42079 Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Hi, yes it can. Can you please describe your issue in more detail? Thanks.

Emby plays files using an mkv container just fine as long as what they contain is compatible I have a few thousand mkv files and they all play jus fine. To find more details read the Emby documentation and follow all directions in the Emby documentation. And, if you need further help, provide DETAILS of EXACTLY how your files are named and what your structure is.
Arthur0618 0 Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 Ok seems to be my goof! I am looking for the files under shows and nothing appears but if I look under episodes. I see all the mkv files and they can play? So, what gives here?
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 It sounds like you naming and structure is all wrong. It sounds like library type, structure and naming are all messed up. You can actually read and follow the directions or you can just live with what you have but, without DETAILS, there is almost nothing anybody can do to help you.
Arthur0618 0 Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 I added libraries that have folders on my 2TB Network drive. When I create libraries for TV Shows this is the result where I can only see the episodes under episodes unlike Movies. Look I am new to this particular app while having used PLEX and KODI for a long time. I find EMBY is much better so I am looking to uses it for Roku.

Some screenshots of how your library filesystem is laid out would be helpful, as well as what you are seeing (or rather not seeing) in Emby For reference: TV Naming

Arthur0618 0 Posted January 10, 2024 Author Posted January 10, 2024 I added a folder for each series of shows or movies.

You should only add the top-level folder that contains the individual series folders: beneath the above folders are the actual series folders themselves, as per the documentation linked a few posts up: Quote \TV \Glee (2009) \Season 1 Glee S01E01.mp4 Glee S01E02.mp4 \TV \Seinfeld (1989) Seinfeld S01E01.mp4 Seinfeld S01E02.mp4 the "TV" folder is all that should be added to your library 1
