Roku plays for a few seconds and then quits

I've encountered a weird situation with my roku tv...

I have a few new rips I made of some bluray where it plays the movie for a few seconds and then it dumps back to the home screen for that movie.  Both movies are MKV 1080p H264.

Now, if I ask for the film to be transcoded to a lower bitrate, it works fine.

It seems that the problem is in the audio file.  Both files default to AC3 stereo.  One film, I can select another audio file that isnt AC3 stereo and it plays, the other only has AC3 stereo.

TV is running emby 4.1.1
