Pseudo TV for Emby

@VicMooreThanks for the update! But please feel no rush getting these out. Take your time with the family :)

I tested the latest version and now it finalizes the creation and does not just freeze like before. However, the guide is not populated with any content in the channels so probably something in my particular configuration that is still resulting in a error. I've attached both my console log and my configuration if that helps.

@VicMooreDisregard my last post! I started working when I re-saved the new settings and went and did a manual scheduled task refresh guide. Great work!

@fillidill I use the Nvidea Shield Pro on 4 tvs without any problems.  Both VirtualTV and PseudoTV send a playlist to the TV, from which the TV fetches Emby media to play. I am very interested in figuring out this problem.  Soon, I plan to rework the TV platform to improve how it works. I will post new code in a few days. Please send me as much info as you can about this problem.

I've now tried to find out more about why I am having stuttering on all my media in Shield Pro. I've found out that it happens on both my android devices (pixel phone & Shield Pro) with the Emby for Android app and seems to, at least to some extent, be related to my .srt subtitles. As soon as I turn them off in the player it stops stuttering a second later and when I enable again they begin to stutter again. But why? VirtualTV plays everything as it should with out without subtitles and of course playing the media normally also works without problem.

All media I play are direct play and I only have external subtitles (.srt) for my media.

What I have tried:
- Tested both the Beta and normal version of the "Emby for Android" app - no difference
- Uninstalled all other plugins than PseudoTV - no difference
- Changing settings in transcoding (even though all media seems to direct play) - no difference
- Re-installed server completely - no difference
- Removing .srt of the media - seems to decrease the stuttering a lot, not sure why...

I will send logs in a DM to you @VicMoore if that helps.

Good morning @Luke@fillidillis having a problem with stuttering occurring when Emby media starts to play. The problem only happens when he uses an SRT file. This happens in PseudoTV, but not with VirtualTV.  Is there an API that manipulates Emby settings that address this problem?

The latest PseudoTV code is attached below. I corrected a bug in the Library Explorer code, and fixed several cosmetic issues.

We'd have to look at a specific example. Thanks.

@fillidillTry this plugin.  I corrected a logging problem. I was logging far too much data. In fact, the log was drowning in data.

I have a question, when you play the media that stutters in PseudoTv but not in VirtualTV, is the movie playing in "Direct Play" on both?

To answer your question, both are played as Direct Play.

@Luke @VicMoore

Here below I've tried to re-produce the problem as clearly as I can.
Attached is a browser console log (when creating Pseudo TV Channels), hardware_detection log and a emby log with me doing the following:

  1. Generating new Pseudo TV Channels.
  2. On my Pixel phone (Emby for Android) playing channel with "The Inbetweeners - S01E01" (VirtualTV).
  3. Close channel.
  4. On my Pixel phone (Emby for Android) playing channel "Little Britain - S01E02" (PseudoTV).
  5. Close channel.

To summarize:
"The Inbetweeners - S01E01 - First Day" Played with Virtual TV - No problems
"Little Britain - S01E02" Played with PseudoTV - Both video and sound stutters on my Pixel phone and Shield Pro on the Emby for Android App (both beta and normal)

Both are played as direct play with only external .srt subtitles.
Please note that it doesn't matter which media content I play, all media I try stutters, I've tested a lot.

I have tested the EPG build software and the TV Platform for over a week with no problems identified.  I have left the population of the EPG running for over three weeks and everything went OK. I even tested building large EPGs that cover 6 to 8 weeks, without incident.  The latest code is posted above and on page 1.

I also added the ability to edit images and to fetch images from external Internet DBs.

On page one there are additional videos that explain PseudoTV.  Keep in mind that I am voice challenged.  Soon, I will try and make better videos.

@feerlessleadrI think I have fulfilled your request.  I created a playlist with content that duplicated your original idea as I understand it. Let me know if I am correct.

@fillidill I recently experienced this problem while direct playing a Twilight Zone TV show to a Samsung TV. I was able to resolve the problem by reducing the quality attribute of the Emby client. To set the Quality level, press the down arrow on the remote to bring up the client's bottom-line menu that lets you pause the video, skip forward, etc.  Go to the far-right side of this menu and click the gear icon. At the top of this menu is the Quality metric. Click it and select a quality level one bracket down. This only works if the video is Direct Playing.

Give this a try and let me know if it works for you.

Vic

P.S.  It also works fine when I use the Web Client.

@TZTZoroI have attached the latest code below.  I have a CSS problem with the buttons moving to the next line when the width of the screen is decreased.  The problem is that the background does not move down to contain the button.  When you have a free moment, please take a look at this problem. I hope there is a simple solution

Attached below is the latest code.  I cleaned up the code a bit and finished the image editor.  I will post a video about the image editor later today.  You can now edit any of the images in Emby.  Just click on the image in the metadata editor (within the tools).

@VicMoore i believe this can not be fixed with a quick css fix because mediaCell2*HTML is outside of mediaCell1HTML

and i believe that if you moved the html structure that your code broke
but if you can move the buttons inside the <div class="filter-group"> it will resize to the height of the buttons and then you need to change padding-bottom for filter-group

i currently do not have much free time to test it but that would be your answer if memory serves correctly

Thanks @TZTZoroFantastic. That's all I need. I appreciate the help. I continue to learn from your CSS.
