VicMoore 754 Posted November 1, 2024 Author Posted November 1, 2024 @feerlessleadr I have finished the coding. I now need to test it and write a short note on it's capabilities and features. Vic 2
feerlessleadr 173 Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 looking forward to giving it a whirl!
VicMoore 754 Posted November 7, 2024 Author Posted November 7, 2024 I have finished testing the code. I will try and post it tomorrow afternoon. Vic 1 1
VicMoore 754 Posted November 7, 2024 Author Posted November 7, 2024 @feerlessleadr @Tremas Attached is the new code that includes the Library Editor, the Metadata Editor, and the Playlist Editor. Remember, to bring these tools up you must press the control key while clicking the green Update the EPG button. In addition, if you reinstall the PseudoTV source then a new Tools button will appear that can be used to access these tools. Also attached are three short videos where I tried to explain in a few words what these code modules do. Let me know if you have any problems. Vic 4-PlaylistEditorPart2.mp4 1-LibraryExplorer.mp4 2-MetadataEditor.mp4 3-PlaylistEditorPart1.mp4 PseudoTV.zip PseudoTV.dll 1
VicMoore 754 Posted November 9, 2024 Author Posted November 9, 2024 I made two videos, explaining how to create channels using Emby Queries and selecting Files directly from Emby Libraries. Please keep in mind when watching these videos that I am voice challenged when speaking. It would be great if someone could remake these videos. Vic 3-FileChannel.mp4 2-QueryChannel.mp4 1
VicMoore 754 Posted November 12, 2024 Author Posted November 12, 2024 (edited) I am now working on a settings menu that allows the user to specify how the selected media for a channel is assembled into the channels content. It also allows you to define how many weeks of EPG data to save in the TV platform. Vic Edited November 12, 2024 by VicMoore 1
VicMoore 754 Posted November 14, 2024 Author Posted November 14, 2024 I have finished the first pass on the Settings menu. I will post it soon. I am delaying because my Synology NAS motherboard died. I will have it fixed in a few days. eerlessleadr @Tremas any comments, changes, or suggestions to help me improve the tool I created to help you with the implementation of the ideas you suggested? Vic
Tremas 197 Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Thanks for all the great work and videos @VicMoore! I have been traveling for work the past week and have not had a chance to test the new features. I will give it a go this weekend. 1
fillidill 175 Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 @VicMooreI've recently purchased a Nvidia Shield Pro and it doesn't seem to work very well with this plugin when using the Emby app playing livetv. All videos, no matter which, are always stuttering for maybe 10 seconds on start which kind of makes it unusable there. Not sure if that is something you can fix VicMoore or if it is on the emby side of things. I've also tried the VirtualTV plugin which works without problem.
Neminem 1518 Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 @fillidillIs it the Emby Android TV or just the Android mobile app.

VicMoore 754 Posted November 15, 2024 Author Posted November 15, 2024 @fillidill I use the Nvidea Shield Pro on 4 tvs without any problems. Both VirtualTV and PseudoTV send a playlist to the TV, from which the TV fetches Emby media to play. I am very interested in figuring out this problem. Soon, I plan to rework the TV platform to improve how it works. I will post new code in a few days. Please send me as much info as you can about this problem. Thanks, vic
VicMoore 754 Posted November 17, 2024 Author Posted November 17, 2024 (edited) Attached below is the latest code. I still have to do: 1) finish documenting the settings, explaining what each setting does, 2) add additional Emby streaming settings and 3) finish the bulk save options of the metadata editor. Before you can use the "Settings Button" you must first delete the PseudoTV Source and install it again. Let me know if everything is working OK. Vic PseudoTV.dll PseudoTV.zip Edited November 17, 2024 by VicMoore 2
VicMoore 754 Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 (edited) I just noticed in the C# tv platform that the "lastUsedIdIndex" is not being updated. This causes EPG updates to receive the same date, rather than new data. I will fix this problem tomorrow. Vic ===== Got it Fixed ===== The corrected code is attached below.... PseudoTV.dll Edited November 18, 2024 by VicMoore
hstamas 179 Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 (edited) Just taking a look at this plugin and am finding that I dont seem to have any TV libraries to add when trying to set up my first TV channel? Only Movies and Collections are available to choose from. Please note that I basically just installed and plowed forwards so I very well could be missing a step? When I hit the tools button I do see my TV libraries listed FYI. Edited November 18, 2024 by hstamas
VicMoore 754 Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 @hstamasplease send me a copy of your browser console. What browser are you using? Vic

Vic Using Safari on a Mac. Also tried Chrome, same thing. Forgive me but I am not sure how to find the browser console to send?
VicMoore 754 Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 @hstamason Windows Edge and Chrome you press F12. I have not tested the app on either Mac or Safari. I just don't have the time. I think the problem is an incompatibility issue. I am very interested in fixing it. Vic

F12 on a Mac does seem to bring it up but there were a lot of things to choose from. Emby Chrome Console.txt
VicMoore 754 Posted November 18, 2024 Author Posted November 18, 2024 @hstamasrecreate the error then press f12 and send me the result. What you sent did not contain the error. Vic

Vic I did exactly that. Sorry it doesn’t have the info you need. Like I said it’s not really erroring, just that the tv libraries are not present in the drop down..
VicMoore 754 Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 @hstamasSorry, the problem is mine. I forgot to un comment the console.log statements that would reveal why your JS pulldown is not being updated properly. I will send you a new plugin tomorrow to try. Thanks for your help. Vic
TZTZoro 26 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 @hstamasthe plugin is developed and tested based on chromium browsers(Chrome, edge, brave, etc) safari and firefox are not chromium based For firefox atleast it is a solution to sometimes double click a dropdown menu the same option, so for example you want tv shows, open it twice and select both times tv shows then the page updates and it works If you do not want to use a different browser like me
VicMoore 754 Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 Thanks @TZTZorofor your response and all of your contributions to this code. This problem shows up when we are dynamically creating the HTML for selecting the Emby Library pulldown. If you recall, we had that incompatibility problem a while back when we rewrote that code. You mentioned a solution then, but I don't remember what it was. Vic
