HW transcode in Docker Container in Unraid.

Hi,

My first topic here. I´m can´t get HW transcoding working in EmbyServer Docker Container in Unraid 6.12.6.

I set both both:

--device /dev/dri:/dev/dri

--device=/dev/dri

setting in Extra Parameters in the Container template. The last was working fine in Jellyfin. Running an Intel I7-13700 with integrated graphics. Intel GPU TOP plugin is installed.

Any tip is much appreciated.

Forget extra parameters and try this.

edit your container.

Scroll down and add Device.

This works for me.

Do you have premiere license, HW transcoding is only available with that.

Sure.

Jellyfin is set up behind reverse proxy. Turning reverse proxy (SWAG) and Jellyfin containers off doesn´t fix HW transcoding in EmbyServer.

If i'm not mistaken, for Intel CPU's 12th Gen and above, I believe you need to be running Emby Server 4.8 Beta in order to get working HW transcoding with your iGPU

As per @jaycedkquestion, which version of Emby are you running?

Yes, it works in 4.8.

What´s the reason for Emby not to support Intel iGPU hw-transcoding in the 3 latest generation of CPU´s in the stable version?
