How did you resolve this? I'm having the same issue. I am able to connect to the server using the browser interface on legacy devices but I cannot connect from any new device that I've tried to add recently, ie., an android phone and a new mini PC that I had hoped to use as a HTPC

At the sign-in page I enter my email address and password - when I press the sign-in button I'm taken to Select Server page and there I'm prompted to Add Server. I enter the LAN IP address for server but when I press connect I get the same errors quoted by the previous user:

We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again.

If you're trying to connect to an http address, your browser may not be allowing this. You may want to try one of the following:

OK, and, did you try one of those two? Both of those options will work.

I tried the 2nd option,  Use http://app.emby.media instead - but that link just takes me back to the sign-in page and the cycle is repeated, again unsuccessfully.

I was going to try the https option tomorrow after a night's sleep but I have now resolved the issue more straightforwardly by just downloading and installing a different browser. The alternate browser connects me without a hitch.

So we probably need to improve the help text even more, but when you do this:

The browser is most likely aggressively redirecting you to the https version, even when you type in http:. it's a new thing following recent browser updates.

You may have to stop the browser from doing this. @GrimReaperdo you have that handy?

The alternate browser that worked is Firefox and it connected me without me having to make any modifications to the browser settings. But I can see that it is connecting me with a warning that the Connection is not secure.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll bookmark that thread and try those Chrome modifications tomorrow. Happy for now that I'm in on Firefox.
