TMDB metadata scanner for TV Series

I'm looking to migrate from Plex and have an extensive existing library that has been carefully named and sorted per their requirements.  I'd _REALLY_ prefer not to have to rename items.

The movie metadata scanner was happy with the naming I used for movies and worked out of the box.  But the TV Series scanner does not.

Using the emby support article on naming conventions, I believe my existing setup should work but get no metadata. 

My naming convention is as follows

Show name {tmdb-XXXX}/Season XX/Show Name - SxxExx - Episode name - resolution.mkv

If I manually change the tmdb ID to imdb, the scanner works perfectly.  However the support article specifically states that TMDB should work.

I have tried changing the order of metadata providers to put TMDB at the top of the scanners, this has not helped.

Can anyone please suggest a way to get Emby to use TMDB id's for TV Series metadata scanning?

Your TV Series naming should be ok, it's odd that you get no metadata, I'd assume that some shows might be mis-identified but not that they wouldn't be identified at all. Post server log from the time of import.

Hey,

if you are using IPv6 on your emby server just disable it. It will work just fine then.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

Having reviewed the log, I'm not comfortable sharing that level of personal detail in a public forum so won't supply it.

I did try disabling ipv6, but this was not successful.

Instead I'll look at renaming via hardlink into another format that Emby will accept.

As your post is in the General forum I presume you're running the release - version 4.7.14 - which is well over a year old now.  If you're happy to try the beta of 4.80 (quite close to release), you may well find this works better.
